His Memorial Service service will live stream on the Afro page. Those who have the Facebook app on their TVs should be able to see it there. Service at St James Episcopal Church in Baltimore begins at 10 AM on Friday, February 4th. I am not ready to read Face Book posts right now, but I feel your love and support, and I remain grateful.

🇺🇸 Josephine Baker is a national hero in 🇫🇷 for her work as a spy during WWII. She served the Résistance by transferring secrets to officials after her shows, hiding fighters and Jews from the enemy and flying for the French Forces in Morocco.

At the war's dawn, she declared her loyalty by saying, “The Parisians gave me their hearts, and I am ready to give them my life.” Years after its end, after receiving the high military honors of the Croix de Guerre and the Legion of Honor, she declared, “I am proud to be French because this is the only place in the world where I can realize my dream.”

France is proud of the fearless and relentless loyalty shown by Josephine Baker whose character is worthy of the honor of the Panthéon.
