Each Petal was carefully handcrafted and placed on the cake one by one. This post just doesnโ€™t do the work behind this cake enough justice.

I was recently tasked with making a cake that was described as โ€œorganized chaosโ€ or a โ€œmessy cakeโ€. At first I had my reservations because naturally Iโ€™m so used to making every last detail of a cake absolutely perfect.

Not to mention that every cake artist knows that when a cake appears to be super โ€œsimpleโ€ it usually causes the us most stress trying to make it look effortlessly neat and uniform. Thereโ€™s always a fine line between too little and too much, and trust me when I say itโ€™s sooo easy to go overboard when youโ€™re used to making elaborate designs.

Not sure if this is a new trend, but it reminds me of a whimsical take on the classic British Eaton Mess Cake. Something like a Rustic Naked Cake meets Messy Floral lol

Anyways, what do you think? Would you add this cake style to your next garden party? YAY OR NAY? ๐Ÿ‘€
