Patisserie Poupon is a neighborhood bakery modeled after a Parisian Boulangerie; or French Bakery; that also makes classic American cakes. The store sells retail and wholesale orders of breads, baked goods, cookies, chocolates, individuals, miniatures, small and large cake as well as wedding, specialty, and sheet cakes. All of the danishes are prepared in house and baked fresh every morning. They sell classic cakes such as triomphe, opera, royale, dacquoise, tiramisu and fraisier. The mousse cakes include cassis, passion chocolate, and mango-pineapple. They also sell American styled cakes like New York cheesecake with fruit, lemon sour cream pound cake and carrot cake with cream cheese icing. Patisserie Poupon is a supporter of local farmers and using local ingredients. Currently, they can be found at three farmer markets. Two Washington stands at Palisades Farmers Market and Dupont Circle Freshfarm Market. While locally, they have a stand with the Bethesda Central Farm Market. The store also has its own chocolatier for making seasonal molded chocolates and chocolate bars. Other traditional items are the house made macaroons, sables (both plain and pecan), palmiers and madeleines. Their goal is to provide customers with fresh, locally sourced, high quality baked goods.
