Happy New Year’s Eve 🎆
I hope everyone has a safe new years eve night and an amazing 2026!
I want to say THANK YOU to everyone who has supported me this year and well the past 5 years! Thank you for all the likes, comments, shares, compliments, constructive criticism, bookings, telling a friend about my cakes, and the friendships I have made along the way. I have done gender reveal cakes that have turned into yearly birthday cakes, 30+ weddings, 1,000+ cakes & cupcakes, & countless desserts. I have learned so much over the years — from learning how to drive with 3+ tiered cakes on these curvy mountain roads, the science of baking, different decorating techniques, creating & testing recipes, to planning and executing holiday menus/pop up markets, talking to customers, making someone’s vision come to life in edible form and learning from my mistakes & cake fails. I am grateful of it all.
As sad as it may be, I have decided to take a step back from birthday cakes & holiday menus and will only be accepting a select amount of wedding cakes this year. On top of having 2 toddlers with me 95% of the time and being a one women show, lately I have been pouring hours upon hours into this business, with little to no reward. With the rising cost of supplies & grocery cost, I’m typically left making cents per hour. Which feels like I’m throwing away the most valuable thing we have— TIME. Instead of nearly tripling my prices so I can pay myself, I am choosing not to because I don’t think it’s fair to pay $100+ for a simple birthday cake no matter how delicious it may be and I have always strived to be affordable for the community I live in.
Austin & the girls have also been deprived of any weekly baked treats the past few years because I never bake for fun anymore— strictly business💵. That’s why he stays so skinny for those who wonder😂 I want to be able to bake for and with my little family again & not feel so pressured to make every cake that comes into my inbox. I struggle telling people no and never want to let anyone down. Hopefully with some of this down time, I may get to put my dreams of owning a bakery food truck into fruition this year. 🤞🏽But for now, I will be living out another dream I’ve had since I was a little girl—being a Mama.
Thank you for all the love and support over the years! If you know someone getting married this year, please send them my way!
