4-inch Red Velvet Mini Cakes with cream cheese frosting, packed up with a little spork because sometimes dessert makes it all the way home…
…and sometimes you sit in the car and eat it by yourself. 😂

This is not a dainty cupcake. 😂
I’ve been playing in The Whimsical Whisk kitchen again, and this one may have gotten a little out of hand.
Meet the Campfire S’more Cupcake:
🔥 Deep chocolate cake
🍫 A thick layer of chocolate ganache
🥨 Buttery graham cracker crust on the bottom
☁️ Toasted marshmallow frosting
✨ Graham crumbs and a little chocolate on top
And yes, I absolutely cut one open because I needed you to see that crust.
This one has been through a couple of test batches, and I think I finally have it where I want it. Rich, messy in the best way, and very definitely not a grocery-store cupcake.
I’m working on some fall baking ideas and cupcake flights for The Whimsical Whisk, so I need to know:
Does Campfire S’more earn a spot in a fall cupcake flight?
Because I have a feeling this one isn’t going anywhere. 🤎

🍑 Saturday Porch Pickup 🍁

Before these flavors make their appearance elsewhere, I’m offering a limited preview from The Whimsical Whisk!

Cupcake Flight — $12

Each flight includes one of every flavor:

🥓 Maple Bacon
A maple cupcake topped with maple buttercream and smoky bacon.

🔥 S’mores
Chocolate cupcake with chocolate ganache, graham cracker crumbs and homemade toasted-marshmallow frosting.

🍑 Peach Cobbler
A soft peach cupcake finished with warm cobbler-inspired flavors.

Dark Chocolate Chunk Cookies — $6

Four large, bakery-style cookies loaded with dark chocolate chunks.

Quantities are limited to:

• 12 cupcake flights
• 6 bags of cookies

Pickup will be Saturday, September 5, in Bakersville. Please message The Whimsical Whisk with your order. Orders close Thursday evening—or sooner if everything is claimed.

Well...Saturday was a really good day at Spruce Pine Florist market. . 💛
Thank you to everyone who stopped by The Whimsical Whisk at the Spruce Pine Florist Garage Market. Whether you bought something, stopped to chat, or just encouraged me, I appreciate every bit of it.
One thing surprised me...
The cupcake flights were definitely the favorite! I wasn't expecting that, but I'm so glad people loved them.
Because several people asked, I'm going to start offering porch pickup by pre-order this weekend.
I'm thinking the menu will include:

🍪 Chocolate Chip Cookies
🍋 Lemon Lavender Shortbread
🍑 Peach Galettes (while peaches are in season)

After traveling through Scotland and Ireland, I keep thinking about the way kitchens feel when they’re truly lived in.

Handwritten recipes.
Worn wooden tables.
Fresh flowers.
Tea steeping quietly in the background.

Whimsical Whisk is slowly becoming less about “products” and more about preserving the feeling of home.

I’m excited to be creating again. 🤍
