Whimsical Whisk isn’t just about what’s baking…

It’s about warm kitchens, quiet moments, and recipes that feel like home.

Still here. Still building 🤍

Tonight’s baking lesson (the hard way):

I had a beautiful loaf of honey oat bread in the oven… everything going just right… until it wasn’t.

The oven quietly gave up on me mid-bake (turns out the bottom element is likely gone), and my poor loaf stalled out at 140° like, “Ma’am… I cannot continue under these conditions.”

Right about the time I realized something was wrong…

My daughter’s pitiful pit bull decided she was apparently starring in her own wilderness documentary and took off into the woods—barking like she had discovered something of great importance.

So there I am:
• half-baked bread in crisis
• oven in betrayal
• grabbing shoes, a jacket, and a headlamp
• fully prepared to march into the woods like some kind of carb-loving rescue ranger

I get to the edge of the woods…

…and that dog comes strolling up from the opposite direction.

Calm. Unbothered. Silent.

Which means:
The barking dog in the woods… was not her.

So now I don’t know:
• who that dog was
• what it was barking at
• or why my bread had to suffer for it

BUT.

The bread is currently being finished in the air fryer (because we adapt, we overcome, we bake anyway).

And honestly?

If I survive this week like a Tw***ie in an apocalypse, I’m calling it a win.

Quick question…

If you could have ONE fresh-baked treat right now, what would it be? 👀

Scones? Cookies? Cake? Something chocolate?
I couldn't decide what to make on this cool, windy day, so I made Honey Oat Bread and Easter Sugar Cookies. 🤍

A few days ago, I shared the story behind this journal — and so many of you understood exactly what I meant about holding onto recipes and memories.

That meant more to me than you know.

For those who have asked… my Family Recipe Journal is now available.

If you have a recipe written in someone’s handwriting…
or one you never want to lose…
this was made for that.

I’ll leave the link here for anyone who wants to take a look. 💛

Well… this feels surreal.

My book is officially live on Amazon.

Seeing my name — T. M. Sanders — on something I created is something I don’t think I’ll ever get used to.

This didn’t start as one simple idea.
It started as a whirlwind of ideas… more than I could keep up with at times. It took time to slow them down, sort through them, and shape them into something real.

This journal is the first of those ideas to find its way into the world.

It was inspired by something very personal — the desire to hold onto the recipes and memories that matter, the ones written in familiar handwriting, passed down, and made over and over again.

Recipes may look like ingredients and directions…
but they’re really love in service.

I’m proud of this. And I know there is so much more to come.

Thank you to everyone who has encouraged me along the way. 💛

Something sweet from the Whimsical Whisk kitchen today. 💛

A blueberry lemon Dutch baby… warm from the oven, dusted just enough to feel a little special.

These are the kinds of recipes that don’t just fill a plate — they fill a home.

And they’re exactly the kind of thing I imagine being written into a well-loved recipe journal someday.

This is where it started for me.

Over 20 years ago, I framed one of my grandmother’s handwritten recipes because I was afraid of losing it…
to fading, to tearing, to time.

I didn’t want to lose that piece of her.

Today, I’m holding something I created —
a Family Recipe Journal.

And I realize now…
this is what I was trying to protect all along.

Not just recipes.
Memories. Handwriting. Love passed down.

If you have a recipe like this — from a mother, a grandmother, someone you miss — you understand.

At The Whimsical Whisk, I love creating little bits of seasonal magic for our community, and this year the Easter Bunny asked if I could help him with something special.

While your little bunnies are sleeping, the Easter Bunny will quietly hop through your yard and hide colorful eggs so they wake up Easter morning to a magical surprise.

Each visit includes:
🥚 Eggs hidden throughout your yard
🐾 Bunny footprints to prove he was there
✨ A special Golden Egg surprise
📸 A photo sent to parents when the Bunny finishes

Spots are limited to 12 yards, so the Bunny can make it to everyone.

If you'd like the Easter Bunny to visit your yard this year, simply:

📱 Text the Easter Bunny’s Helper

to reserve your spot.

The Whimsical Whisk has always loved celebrating the seasons with our community, and I’m so excited to help create a little Easter magic for Bakersville families this year. 🐣🌷

Something new is coming from The Whimsical Whisk Kitchen.

For years I've saved family recipes on scraps of paper, index cards, and the backs of envelopes.

So I finally made something I wish I had years ago —
a Family Recipe Journal to hold the recipes that make a home feel like home.

It will be available very soon.

And I’m already thinking about which recipes my children will write inside theirs someday. 🍰
