This is why I started The Cozy Maple Bakery 🍁🤎

I could never find a bakery in this area that was:

Delicious

Allergy friendly

Filled with wholesome, natural ingredients

Focused on food safety

But this is exactly what The Cozy Maple Bakery’s mission statement is and everyday, I strive to deliver on these values!

Before I started the bakery I felt hopeless when it came to food. Because of the many ingredients I'm not able to have, I find it rare to come across something that I'm actually able to eat, and is tasty at the same time. I didn't want anyone else to feel this way too!

I love hearing these reviews and knowing that I can bring back a little bit of normalcy despite your allergies!

Cake is one of those special desserts 🎂

You eat it when you're happy, you eat it when you're sad, you eat it when it's 3pm on a Monday just because it's 3pm on a Monday!

But what makes cake even better? When you can have one cake for all of your family/friends no matter their allergies!

Hi! I'm Katherine Simmons, the one making all of The Cozy Maple Bakery goodies!! 🍁🤎

There are some new faces around here so I thought it would be a good time to re-introduce myself & share some fun facts about me!

1) I am a self taught baker (well self taught and help from my mom). I actually went to college at Framingham State for nutrition, planning to become a registered dietitian. However, while I was there plans changed and I wound up in the nutrition and wellness concentration learning the science behind baking and cooking. So essentially, I was graded on how well I could make cookies after changing the recipe and ingredients 🤷🏻‍♀️ came in pretty handy for the bakery!

2) I am a lifelong resident of Ayer Shirley - I grew up in Ayer and went through the Ayer Shirley school district. In high school I played volleyball, basketball and softball all 4 years (Go Panthers! 🐈‍⬛)

3) I got married in 2020 (yes, in the middle of the pandemic) and we adopted our pandemic puppy a month before the wedding - you could say I like to keep myself busy

4) My favorite thing on the menu is the Salted Caramel Brownies

5) My favorite color is blue! 💙

These boxes will include a special cookie of the month (August will be birthday cake) and plain brownies.

There's been a lot of talk about this bread recently and for a good reason...

Or should I say reasons?

It's soft and chewy on the inside, crunchy on the outside

It doesn't crumble to pieces like most gluten free bread

It's big enough to ACTUALLY MAKE A SANDWICH 😳 no more tiny gluten free sandwiches over here!

And it's less expensive per slice than the name brands you can find at the grocery store. Not to mention it's baked fresh to order so it tastes better too 🤷🏻‍♀️

Oh, and did I say it's vegan?! Yup, so it's safe to eat for everyone!

Store in the freezer and take a slice or two out when you need them. Pop them in the toaster or microwave for a few minutes/seconds and you'll have yourself a fresh, warm piece of toast that's worthy of the name.

I'm not sure which is the best part..

The fact that these cinnamon rolls come in multiple different flavors or that they are entirely allergy free!

Seriously, where can you find cinnamon rolls that are not only pillowy soft, melt in your mouth delicious but also gluten free, tree nut/peanut free, lower sugar and can be made dairy and soy free??

These beauties freeze SO well so you can order a bunch, stick them in the freezer then just place them in the fridge the night before you'd like them to thaw. Then in the morning pop them in the microwave for a few seconds to warm, top with the luscious vanilla icing and you have a delicious breakfast ready to go.

I am SO excited to announce that..

The Cozy Maple Bakery is back!

You might've noticed I haven't been posting much here lately and that is because I have been renovating this space! This kitchen means I can now take more orders and hopefully continue to grow! 🤎🍁

This space will only be used as a kitchen so all orders will still need to be placed online.

I can also now accept credit cards! No more worrying about finding the cash or sending payments through Venmo. Either pay through a link or manual card entry and consider your goodies in the oven!

My ingredients vs my competitor!

Last week I compared reviews of my bread vs my competitor so this week let's look at ingredients comparing chocolate chip cookies 🧐

My ingredients are clean and simple, starting with gluten free flour (mostly what makes up the cookie) and ending with espresso power (least amount of ingredients) you can see that they are gluten free, tree nut peanut free and lower sugar! 🍪

Vs my competitor. They use four different types of sugar and WAY more of it! On nutrition labels, ingredients are listed in descending order by weight. Brown sugar is second!! Also, they mention natural flavors. What is that exactly?? In my research of gluten free ingredients, I've learned to stay away from natural flavoring because no one really knows what it is.

PSA: The Cozy Maple Bakery is not JUST for people with allergies!

My goal with this bakery is to make delicious baked goods that are safe for EVERYONE to enjoy, not just those with allergies!

I always say: I make treats that just happen to be allergen safe 🤎🍁 Everything I make is health AND flavor focused so you’ll never feel like you’re compromising or sacrificing anything when you eat my goodies.

One of my favorite stories is when a mom told me that her son’s friend loved my brownies so much that he was “going to start eating gluten free” lol!

It always makes my day when I hear stories like these because I want to change the narrative around allergen safe foods! They can be tasty AND healthy 😋
