Putin gave an interview to former Fox News host Tucker Carlson. Here is shortcut to save you two hours.
Putin began the two-hour interview with a pseudo-historical flow of fiction about the alleged history of the Russian Federation, according to which Ukraine is “an artificial state created by the will of Stalin,” the idea of a separate Ukrainian people was promoted by the Austrian General Staff, and it received the territory “from the master’s shoulder.”
He also repeated many times the theses of Russian propaganda about the “coup d’etat” in Ukraine in 2014, Kiev’s “refusal” to implement the Minsk agreements, the need for “denazification” and the “readiness” of the Russian Federation for negotiations with Ukraine. There was also something new: he also called the coming to power of the third president of Ukraine, Viktor Yushchenko, a “coup d’etat”.
Here is the main part of his nonsense, verbatim:
🤡 Ukraine is an artificial state created by the will of Stalin.
🤡 They started the war in 2014. Our goal is to end this war. And we didn’t start it in 2022, this is an attempt to stop it.
🤡 No, we have not yet achieved our goals [in the war], because one of the goals is denazification.
🤡 We have no interests either in Poland or in Latvia - anywhere. Why do we need this? We simply have no interests. Just threats.
🤡 [In Ukraine] there are mercenaries from the USA. Most of the mercenaries are from Poland, in second place are mercenaries from the United States, in third place are from Georgia.
🤡 Nord Stream 2 was damaged, but one pipe is alive and well, and it can supply gas to Europe, but Germany does not open it. We're ready, please.
🤡 Mr. President of Ukraine issued a decree prohibiting negotiations with us. Let him cancel this decree, and that’s it.
🤡 Tell today's leadership of Ukraine: listen, let's sit down, negotiate, cancel your stupid decree or maternity leave and sit down, negotiate. We didn't refuse.
🤡 Relations between peoples will be restored anyway. It will take a long time, but it will recover.
