It’s killing me not being able to celebrate St Patrick’s Day this year! One of my favorite baking holidays 🍀
So here is a throwback to a fun St Patty’s day themed cake I did last year! ( Don’t mind the less than impressive snapshot, sometimes there aren’t enough hours in the day to get Instagram worthy pictures of my cakes!)
A lot of people ask me what the best way to cut a round cake is. #1 is MY favorite way to cut a round cake. It’s not only easier, but you can get more servings this way!

As I am gearing up for next weekend, I thought I would let you know that next weekend, February 25th and 26th, will be your last chance to get some Katie Mae’d goodies for a while 😞
Effective March 3rd, Katie Mae’d will be temporarily closed due to a necessary surgery.
As a small business and one women show, when things like this come up it significantly impacts my ability to continue business as usual. I know how frustrating it is for my customers, but it’s equally as frustrating for me, not to be able to be open and serve you.

Got some new flavors this week that I’m so excited about!
Chubby Hubby is my take on the Ben & Jerry’s ice cream. Vanilla Malt flavored cake with crunchy bits of chocolate covered pretzels topped with chocolate and peanut butter frosting
Orange Chai is a spiced cake with a vanilla orange frosting… don’t knock it till you try it! SO GOOD!

I have some bad news-
I am sold out and will be closing for the remainder of the day. You guys are all amazing and braved the cold. Thank you so much!
With that being said, There is a lot of illness going around our community. And unfortunately, my family has been hit once again. For the safety of all my amazing customers and because I am a one person show, I will not be able to open, Saturday, January 22nd. If you have preorders for Saturday, don’t worry! I will have them ready for you and a way for contactless pick up. I will be in contact with you all later today.
I truly apologize for any inconvenience and look forward to a healthier February.

Over the weekend, I got the the pleasure of making my cousins wedding cake! It was 100% a learning experience as I had never decorated a cake like this before. It’s definitely not perfect, but I absolutely love how it turned out.

Well, it only makes sense that the weekend of my one year anniversary we get hit with another snow storm, just like we did the weekend I opened last year! I hope this doesn’t become a yearly thing 😉
I had big plans for an open house this weekend but Mother Nature has other plans for me 😩 So this week we are keeping it simple and I will reschedule my open house for another weekend in the near future!
