If burnout was a picture. 🤬🙃

For the last couple weekends, I could not make a fu***ng loaf of bread. That was just one the last of many things that seem to have gone oddly wrong lately. (Bandaged hand as a receipt 😅)

Loaf after loaf came out wrong, and I kept picking apart what I was doing. What am I doing wrong? Why can't I do this thing I know how to do?

Eventually I was too tired to keep stressing about it. I stopped trying to force an answer.

And then it became embarrassingly obvious... my starter was tired, too. 🤦‍♀️

I hadn't forgotten how to make bread. I didn't need to try harder. The thing doing all the work was depleted.

It needed to be fed. It needed time. It needed rest. And she bounced back. 🫧

And apparently so do I. 😴

I fed my starter, let it recover, and yesterday I made a beautiful fu***ng loaf. 🫡

Sometimes the answer isn't to try harder. Sometimes the thing doing all the work needs to be fed & rested. 👌🫶

It's back to school time & I'm sure some of your wallets can feel it. Now seems like the perfect time to open up my "Get a Loaf/Gift a Loaf" project. 🥖🎁

To be fair, I never really stopped... it just wasn't official. So now it is. 🫡
