It’s only been 9 years. Not 100. 🤔

Chances are if you ate anything at our deli in the past 15 years Walberto’s hand was on it. (with gloves).

He made fantastic pizza, salads, And a mean BEC.

Walberto was a quiet humble man, he had a funny sarcastic side to him that always made us laugh when the s**t hit the fan. Always said to me “take it easy ,take it easy “.

Walberto was the most reliable employee a boss can ever ask for. He never called in. He opened our deli like clockwork 6 days a week ( 7 in the summer). I NEVER had to worry that I’m going to wake up and the deli would be closed.

Through rain, snow, hurricane Sandy, he would get there from Far Rockaway by bicycle. He was loved by many people that passed through our doors.

Unfortunately this morning Walberto passed away. He was battling an illness all to familiar to many.
Walberto leaves behind his wife, children and his nephew Jose.

This really happened..

Sorry we will be closed today. The Storm left us with lots of work ahead. We will be open ASAP. Good luck to all our friends. Some photos of the Devastation left behind.
