Maria Nagy, born in Budapest, Hungary, in 1948, passed away peacefully after a courageous battle with cancer last Thursday, July 18, 2024. Her four kids held her as she went away. She came to the United States in 1971. She escaped a socialist country with Tamas Nagy, and a small suitcase and came to America for a new life and a new adventure. Where she built a beautiful life and raised four children.

With an entrepreneurial spirit, she opened a Hungarian bakery in the Candler Park area of Atlanta, which she ran for ten years. She started her business at age 65 and ran it until age 75. Her bakery was not just a business but a beloved gathering place for the community.

She will be remembered for her warmth, kindness, and the delicious pastries that brought joy to so many. Her legacy lives on in the hearts of her family and the community she touched.

My mom is doing fine these days. However she is not baking anymore. Her oncologist gave her an expiration date of July 2nd. My mom said screw this, that she ain't going anywhere. To offset this she's having a dance party on July 2nd at Johnny's Hideaway at 7:00 p.m. She misses everyone dearly, and would love to see everyone again. Please come and dance with her. Jonny's hideaway July 2nd at 7pm. All invited, no cover.

I have some good news.
I had my first new treatment and I feeling better. The doctors agreed I can reopen my store.
WE REOPENING NOVEMBER 12th Saturday 1:00 pm till 6pm Sunday from 1 pm till 6pm
The following week will be open 19th; 20th; 21st ; 22nd and 23rd from 1pm till 6PM

Hi Palacsinta Family!

As many of you know my Mom has been taking a break from the Palacsinta (Crepe) stand as she has been focusing on her health and going thru cancer treatments. We will be having a celebration and fundraising event on this Sunday as she has just completed the first half of her cancer treatments this week.

My Dad (Tamas) will be making his famous Hungarian crepes and my Hungarian Aunt(Gabi) and cousin(Ducci) are making dozens of Hungarian yummy treats as well. Come join us for this celebration and fundraising event this Sunday. While, we will not be charging for the delicious treats, we will be taking donations instead. Suggested donation of $15 dollars are greatly appreciated. The money will be used to cover costs associated with treatments.

Come celebrate, meet the family, enjoy some delicious crepes and desserts this Oct. 16, Sunday between 12-5pm. Depending on how she feels my Mom, will be making a guest appearance during the day. Presently, she is looking and feeing great! Looking forward to seeing you there!

Sorry we are going to be closed this weekend. I had a mild stroke Wednesday. I'm ok just get home from the hospital. Need to rest a couple of days before go back to work
