Today is World Cancer Day—a day that honors, remembers, and supports those affected by cancer. And, we can’t let today go by without sharing something a little unexpected… Susansnaps wouldn’t be here without cancer. Funny thing - now, how many cookie companies can say that?

If you’ve followed our journey from the beginning, you know. But if you’re new here—Susansnaps started in our garage-turned-kitchen while I was going through chemo for Hodgkin’s lymphoma. My mom created her gingersnap recipe while my Dad and I were in chemo as a way to bring a little joy during an incredibly tough time. What started as a simple act of love became something much bigger—a way to spread cheer, one cookie at a time. ❤️🍪

I was named after my Aunt Susan, who died at 28 from the same cancer I survived. Her memory, my journey, and my mom’s love are at the heart of everything we do. Every day, we hear from customers sending Susansnaps to loved ones facing their own battles. More than just cookies, they’re a way to say: I’m thinking of you. I care. Hang in there.

Today, we send love to all the fighters, survivors, caregivers, and families walking this path. Cancer is tough business. A small act of kindness—a thoughtful message, a hug, or even a cookie—can mean everything. ❤️

Mom and I have come a long way in growing a business we initially knew very little about (our first buyers meeting with coffee bars gave new meaning to “fake it till you make it”…but that’s a story for another time), and we couldn’t have done it without YOU.
