It’s fundraiser season again for many of our local organizations and I’d like to give a friendly reminder for anyone reaching out to local businesses for fundraiser donations:
please remember that small businesses have limits, too.
Many of us are happy to help when we can, but we receive more requests than we can possibly say yes to.
Before asking, consider whether you’ve supported that business yourself and how you’ve treated other businesses in the community. Kindness and support matter year-round, not only when it’s time to ask for a donation.
If the answer is no, please accept it graciously. You may not know what that business is facing behind the scenes. And if the answer is “I can give something small,” please know that it was still given generously.
A little consideration and a sincere thank-you go a long way.
I know most of the small bakers in our community (myself included) would like to help each and every request we get, but when you receive 6-7 request a week, it’s just not possible to give to everyone 💜
