There's a lot that goes into a bake day that never makes it into the box. ❤️

The early mornings, the recipe testing, the things we try that need a little more work, and the joy of finally getting something just right.

But some of our favorite parts of running Heart of the Home Bakery have very little to do with baking at all. It's the conversations at pickup, getting to know the people in our community, and hearing that something we've made has become a family favorite.

We love that this little business gives us a way to build something together as a family, share what we're passionate about, and hopefully inspire others to try something new in their own kitchens.

We started this bakery because we love baking, and it's been such a joy to share what we love with our community, discover baking traditions from around the world, and bring people together around the table. ❤️

❤️ Some people make a community feel a little more like home, and Pam has certainly been one of those people for our family!

After 23 years at our local library, Pam is retiring, and while she will be so dearly missed, we couldn’t be happier for her as she begins this next chapter!

Our family has been blessed by Pam in so many ways over the years. From our own school days, to her genuine encouragement as we began our bakery journey, to storytime with our own children, she has been a special part of so many seasons of our lives. As a fellow baker, she even generously passed along baking supplies to help us get started! 🥹❤️

Whether at the library or out in the community, Pam has always been such a warm, welcoming face. She has a gift for making people feel seen, encouraged, and at home, and it’s easy to understand why so many people love her.

Thank you, Pam, for the years of kindness, encouragement, and memories you’ve given our community. The library won’t quite be the same without you, but we’re so excited for all the wonderful things this next season holds for you! You’ve certainly earned it. ❤️📚🍰

Happy retirement, Pam! You will be missed! 🥰

Today was a full fun fall day... 😍🍂

We started with baking French éclairs before sunrise and then headed to the Hartsburg Pumpkin Festival! It's a favorite family tradition of ours! Lots of fantastic local vendors and craftsmanship, as well as, memories with loved ones! If you're able to attend we highly recommend!

Not only do we get to support local, but we love it when we get to "bump into" customers! Seeing you enjoy time with your own families and friends or catching up is such a joy for us! 😊

🙌 Fun fact... if you happen to meet Chef Eric or Chef Deanna with The Flavor Life (wing sauce and seasonings) at the festival, please be sure to say hello! They're the initial spark of culinary appreciation for Heart of the Home (Jared's parents 👨‍🍳👩‍🍳💖)! Growing up in a house of both cooking and baking helped inspire the knowledge and traditions to pass on! ♥️ We highly recommend sampling their wing sauces! 😋

We can't wait for next week's bakes.... another two day journey is ahead. Can you guess where we'll be taking you next on our global baking adventure!?! 🌎
