After some thought (and especially after my recent oven repair debacle), I’ve decided to close my micro bakery.

[The last pre-order date will be for a May 30 pickup.]

Short version: Turns out running a micro-bakery on top of a full-time job and another business is… ambitious. And I definitely over-committed. 💯

Longer version: I LOVED baking for you, especially the science + art of sourdough, but I hit a point where doing more, and doing it well (like expanding my menu) would mean investing time and equipment I just don’t have without spreading myself way too thin.

And I’d rather stop than do it halfway.

So this is me making a grown-up decision, even if it’s not the fun one.

THANK YOU to everyone who ordered, and for supporting this little bakery!

I’m not done creating, I’m just redirecting where that energy goes.

And yes… I will still be baking. Just not at scale, and not on a production schedule 🙂

Ugh, my oven broke down this week! Igniter failure. I am waiting to see if repairs are available or if it will need a full replacement. In the meantime, I will have to postpone all orders until this is resolved. Thanks for your understanding!

Cinnamon Swirl is a new bread flavor I want to add to my menu. It’s a classic (and it’s one of my personal favorites.) But it’s also proven to be a bigger challenge than I thought! 💯 Using just the right amount of cinnamon, butter and sugar without it completely boiling over in my loaf pans and onto the bottom of the oven has been a big hurdle. Folding the loaf so it shows a nice swirl when you cut into it leaves many combinations to try and finalize. I suppose I could use a Dutch oven for these but I like the loaf shape for easier cutting and packaging - plus efficiency with baking more than one loaf at a time. I think I figured it out! Time to add this to the menu!!

It occurred to me, if someone stops by to pick up their order you can’t just hand them a laundry basket or ask them to balance a bundle of bread loaves! First impressions are everything— says the designer in me. I was scrambling to find a gift bag and came across this sunflower bag I had saved. Kinda perfect for Flour Patch, I thought! So I took a picture, asked Google lens to find them, and sure enough, carries “flower” gift bags. Makes me smile. Creating the labels and packaging the bread is as much fun as the baking!! 😍

Making that cinnamon swirl was harder than I thought! Lots of test folds. And taste testing 😊 Now, to keep the brown sugar from spilling all over the pan when it bakes. Baby steps!
