It's been a while since I wrote in one of these posts. I thought it best to make the comments short and sweet. But if I were honest, I love writing a good blurb.

Anyway, this post goes to all the customers I've had the honor and joy of making their sweets and treats. Truly, if it weren't for them, I wouldn't be here.

I got to meet so many people from this venture. Different faces I've met and many stories I've harvested. Sometimes, our interactions are but a mere three minutes. Other times, I get the blessing of getting to know them better. Either way, I'm glad to say that the first interaction is almost always never the last. 😉

I'm not really a people person, but I am a story person. And in every person, there lies a story that's dying to be heard. And so, to that, I'm so thankful for this little business. From I got to meet a many story and the characters whom inhabit them.

A couple Saturdays ago, I got a taste of what that meant. Carlos, owner of Calletana's Peruvian Fast Food, did me a solid and allowed me to perform my music on a rainy afternoon. It's been a while since I sang my songs in public, but man, it felt so great and so fulfilling to my soul. He also blessed me with his arroz con pollo (slide 2) which was so good I couldn't recommend it more for anyone who's new to Peruvian cuisine. I'm grateful to have met Carlos and his family when they started, and I'm honored to sell my alpaca alfajores at his establishment (slide 3). Thank you, Calletana's for advancing not only my small business dreams, but also my music, my passion.

If you haven't visited Calletana's, I highly reccomend you give it a try. Great food. Excellent service. You won't regret it.

|Beloved|

The day of my sister's wedding draws nearer. Excitement, anxiety, and joy are visible on everyone's faces as the preparation phase comes to an end. In less than a week my sister will be a Mrs. and I will have more space to put my guitars, books, and baking utensils. I jest.

But never in a million years did I imagine I would have the privilege to make her cake, (now cakes; one for the bridal shower, the other for her wedding), and yet here we are. I'm so excited about the day and hope you like my cake. (Hope you enjoyed the bridal shower one!)

Thank you, Bet, for being a great sister, and a greater friend and counselor. May God bless you and your new family, for you are His Beloved and He is yours.

Thanksgiving Thursdays|

I was a senior in high school when I waited tables at Pollos Inti Sterling. I have many beautiful memories and cherish the friends I made at my uncle's beloved restaurant. Now, I am proud to be part of their story still, and thankful they are still in mine. Thank you, Pollos Inti Sterling, for allowing us to serve your establishment! You believe in our products. And for that, we are thankful.

Pollo Inti Restaurant is a Peruvian Restaurant that serves one of the tastiest pollo a la brasas in Sterling, VA. Their authentic marinade is replete of flavors that make their rotisserie chicken a mouth-watering experience. Though, in my opinion, a dish that excels even more in flavor is the carne asada with their tasty black and pinto beans and cebolla that adds sweetness and texture to the plate.

Other signature Peruvian dishes they serve are ceviche mixto, papá rellena, and bistec a lo pobre. If you stop by during the weekends, you will also see special dishes such as Trío Criollo and my personal favorite, El Aeropuerto. If you go to Pollo Inti Sterling, be prepared for a "homey" and enjoyable visit.

P.S. Be sure to buy a box or two of Dieguito's Bakery mini alfajores. They're to die for.
