Jim Lyme, a longtime pony enthusiast from Ohio, passed away September 3. The Lyme family was active showing American Shetlands and Hackneys for decades. Services for Jim will be held Saturday, September 12th. Visitation will be from 2-4 pm, with services starting at 4, at Zechar Bailey Funeral Home in Greenville, OH.

Today's the day! ASPC's National Area Show proposals are due.

The American Shetland Pony Club's National Area Shows were established in the late 1990s to encourage a local club to host a special competition guaranteeing there was at least one high-caliber show annually for ponies in 8 different regions across the US. Exhibitors would gain access to perks such as a show photographer, fancier show setting, more year-end points, etc. Area Shows were - essentially - something nice on a more local level for exhibitors who might not be able to attend a national championship.

Where and when National Area Shows for the next are held are determined through a selection process that begins in the fall. The time starts NOW for 2027. National Area Show proposals are due Sept. 1!
