One last post..... Heartland Deli is officially over, the equipment and building is sold, the girls have all found another place to work, and I am doing the next best thing.....enjoying moments as Nana. We had a large turnout for the sale, and are grateful for the people who came. And some came by just to say hello, which meant so much to my heart!!! Not naming names because I fear of missing one in this moment and realize it only after posting.... I managed to keep tears from falling down the cheeks, although several times, they gathered in my eyes. I genuinely miss all the people I have come to know, to love, and to bake for. Making sandwiches, small talk..... I miss it. Yet being Nana is very special and I am grateful that I can spend this time with our children and grandchildren. π₯° Arthur First Bank has been our next door neighbor, literally. Only a firewall separated our businesses. When we baked, they could smell bakery items. When Lynetta burned her pretzel, they smelled that and came over to make sure there was no fire. When we installed the dipping well, the sound brought them to our door to make sure we were okay. ππ they truly were close neighbors π they purchased the building at the auction. π the keys will be handed over at the closing soon....
Saturday evening, Jenny gave me one last gift from my girls..... a board signed by all "my girls". Oh yes, tears..... I loved having these girls in my life, loved having them work with me, and they each hold a special place in my heart..... it took a bit to get the signatures as several live out of state now. Thanks you, my girls, for putting up with all the crazy of me being Mama Julie....ππ₯°π€ memories remain....
And pictures of those that call me Nana..π₯° there is something about the grandkids that just get the heart like I never knew could happen. (Hence the sign that hubby bought me).... our oldest grandson will be 5 next week (where oh where has 5 years gone?!?). Then there is the new big sister (trying to do photo shoot;you can tell she is cooperating, right??π€£π€£ sass on first, then cooperation) that is 18 months, the new grandson born this week, and then there is Miss Blake, a year old. JP and Taylor just have a choice but to let me claim her as she loves her Nana, right? She loves her real grandparents, I know, but we get the blessing of being another set of people that get to love on her. My covering almost didn't fit the day that she did not want her mom, nor Minerva, she wanted Nana. Gotta just love her....π₯° and looking forward to her baby sibling due in May as well..... then there is another 3 babies due to join us soon .... Nana heart is so happy to have more Littles to love!! π
Life is busy even when I am no longer at the bakery, and I am forever grateful for the 3 years of being there. I met wonderful people, had wonderful girls to work with me, and there have been many blessings in those short years. Thank you, friends, for stopping by, for supporting us in our small business..... know you have made a difference in my life...
So this is goodbye to my "letters" on Facebook, and goodbye to Heartland Deli..... May you find your life is blessed in more ways than you can ever imagine π Mama Julie and the Heartland Girls.....
