Humbled and honored to be representing City of Dalworthington Gardens and City of Arlington, TX - City Hall. After Micah passed, I had a dream to create a place that would carry on who he was. Little did I know at that time how that would unfold. First, a major thank you to my wife Amanda for believing in my dream, and encouraging me to take huge scary leaps of faith! Also, a huge thank you to John Rivers, Jeff Palermo, and others like them, who inspired this dream, to Russell Kirkpatrick, Jon Bonnell, Laurie Swink Bianco, Derrick Kinney, Graciela Todd, and others who believed in me and gave me a chance when starting out, to Jimmy Kinley and Jenifer Kinley for your amazing partnership in this venture, to my bro Jon Ahern and Mike Shreve Sr for your countless hours helping me in past food festivals 😁, to the awesome employees who have served at Gold Ribbon Confections and Grounds & Gold Co., and lastly to the countless customers and community who because of your support have allowed me to live out this dream and hopefully inspire others like Micah did!

In less than a month, it'll be time for the 2024 rendition of CultureMap Fort Worth's Tastemaker Awards, celebrating all that is great in Fort Worth food and drink, with a tasting event and awards ceremony on May 2 at The 4 Eleven (411 S. Main St.), hosted by acclaimed Fort Worth chef Jon Bonnell.

On Friday, April 1, Gold Ribbon Confections will be participating in the Fort Worth Food + Wine Festival Nite Bites Event. If you have never been to this festival, we strongly encourage you to attend. Money raised will help provide scholarships to aspiring students in the Fort Worth culinary community. This event is very dear to us. Owner Maurice Ahern met Russell Kirkpatrick, Event Co-Founder, in 2018, when he was looking to start a business. Russell gave him the opportunity to participate in Desserts After Dark that year, and it was this event that launched us and gave us the confidence to serve the DFW community. The following year we participated again and brought back the Fan Favorite Dessert!
