Just an idea on my heart lastnight... would our village be interested in this? ⛪️🍰👶

As my girls and I continue to work ourselves to the bone to build our own independent future, my heart keeps pulling me back to the vulnerable kids right here in our community who are navigating the heaviest, most uncertain seasons of their little lives.

I’ve been tossing around a brand-new monthly mission idea for Oh Sweet Patriot: Sponsoring a Monthly Dessert Table for the kids at Community Youth Services of Southern Oklahoma (our local children's shelter here in Ardmore). 🏢🤍

The idea would be to bake up a beautiful, high-end spread of our premium handmade cupcakes, cookies, and sweet treats once a month, take it into the shelter, and completely set up a celebratory table. I want to give these babies a night where they feel completely loved, special, and reminded that their community sees them.

Before I reach out to the director at Community Youth Services to pitch this and get approval, I want to see if the interest is actually there from our online village to help fund it.

I cannot do this alone—it would take our community sponsoring the raw ingredient costs. If we did this, a neighbor could sponsor a child's dessert box for just $10.00 to cover the flour, sugar, and butter. 10 would cover a cupcake, soda, and a small popcorn. Like a monthly birthday party for the kids. The image below is an idea of a party that my 10 year old does.
