Little late on posting but wanted to share what an honor it was to be a sponsor at Assumption School, Ansonia CT Golf Tournament 2026 💚 Your sourdough girl here has never golfed a day in her life 🥴 but anything I could do to support my community, I’m game! (To be completely honest, the best part was blasting 2000s hip hop while driving the cart.. sorry to any golfers I may have distracted ✌️) 🤣😅

We usually go out to eat on Saturdays during Market Season and I am going to be posting here each week with a restaurant spotlight. It’s SO important to support our local restaurants and businesses 🤍

This week- we did a “crawl” at two of our go-to’s:
Started out with our FAVORITES from Chifrijo The ceviches and pisco sours are amazing. Gustavo and his staff are always so welcoming- our lovely server even knew our drink order before we sat down. Awesome vibes and a pure gem in town. The ceviche is TOP notch- our fave is the Peruvian Mixto.. my son even drinks the ceviche juice right from the bowl 🤣

Then we walked next door to Retro Bar & Char and had a classic pie, burger pie, and some DELISH cocktails (and mocktails) including the Mango No Tango (little man has been asking for mango tangoes since we left Mexico 🤣). Service was fast (guys behind the open ovens were busting their butts!) our waitress was lovely- we had great conversation, and pizza was SO good- they even use non bromated flour which is important to a bread girly like myself!! 😎

Support local! 🙌🏼

God really said “she doesn’t care about selling out.. let’s have her sell out all but ONE loaf 😏” 🤣 In all seriousness- God is good ya’ll, I feel SO blessed to have accomplished my biggest bake EVER and leave market with a single Cranberry Walnut Sourdough. Thank you to each and every one of you guys - it means so much to me that you let me bake for your families 🧡🧡🧡

Biggest prep EVER 🥹 103 sourdough bread batards ready to be baked tomorrow. Not pictured: 300ish cookies, 80 biscuits, 32 scones, 50ish burger buns, 40ish muffins. I am my own greatest critic- getting in my head a bit that I over-prepared for market.. but, even if I don’t sell out, I am still SO proud of what I have accomplished and always challenging myself. Praying for a great bake day especially considering I switched to ALL organic flour this week! 🤍 come see me and many other amazing vendors Saturday AM 8:30 🙌🏼

I have some new followers on here so I wanted to make a post and tell you a little bit about myself. First- hi 👋I’m Carrie, the chef behind Carrie’s Flour Garden, and this here is my family and also my *why*. I say “chef” because I love to cook- moreso than bake! But, I did find a love of baking sourdough some years back. I love the gut healthy benefits, the fact our ancestors have been making it the same way forever, testing out new inclusions.. and who doesn’t love bread?! Especially when it has a lower glycemic index and easily digested! My bread is long fermented and use all organic ingredients whenever possible- even some things from my own garden 🤍

My business is now my full time job after leaving corporate real estate after 14 years, just last year, due to some life curveballs. I am a home based baker, fully licensed and insured. It may seem like a hobby to some, but believe me- I work harder and more hours now than I ever have before. However, the flexibility works well with being a Mom, and that will ALWAYS be my number 1 priority.

I am from Milford- born and raised- up until 2015 when my (then) fiancé (now husband) and I bought what was supposed to be our starter home in Ansonia. Since then, we have laid down roots here, and honestly- I consider Ansonia and always will also consider Milford, as my home. After all- I am in Milford 5x per week during hockey season 😅 and it’s where many family and lifelong friends still reside. You can catch me at the Downtown Milford Farmers Market at Wasson every Saturday this Summer, starting at 8:30am. I am so excited to see so many familiar faces, especially at the place where I used to cheer for pop warner, and play softball throughout all of my childhood.

The sourdough industry is quite saturated and that is okay with me! I love to hear that people are excited about sourdough!! I am all about getting back to our roots; whether it be baking bread, gardening, canning, and all the “granny” hobbies (as they call it on tiktok lol)

Anywho- glad you are here and following along on my journey. Excited for another market season and what’s to come 🤍🌻

Orders are live on Bakesy! Pickups are Saturday 7AM I will be placing orders in the stand before I leave for market. If this time frame doesn’t work, I can keep yours inside until I get home from the market and put it out for your around 1:30pm. Just specify in comments when ordering. I am not accepting presale orders for pickup at the market- it’s just too much with setup for a one-woman show 🤣 Just come and shop! It’s the best market around here- promise you that! Market opens 8:30am! ☀️ Downtown Milford Farmers' Market

Cash is King.. trying out something:: I will be offering cash discounts moving forward. $1 off $20+, $2 off $30+, and $5 off $50+.

Copied and pasted.. Please take the time to read. Dave Ramsey repost:

HERE'S WHAT NO CASH ACTUALLY MEANS:
A cashless society means no cash. Zero. It doesn’t mean mostly cashless and you can still use a ‘wee bit of cash here & there’. Cashless means fully digital, fully traceable, fully controlled. I think those who support a cashless society aren’t fully aware of what they are asking for. A cashless society means:

* If you are struggling with your mortgage on a particular month, you can’t do an odd job to get you through.
* Your child can’t go & help the local farmer to earn a bit of summer cash.
* No more cash slipped into the hands of a child as a good luck charm or from their grandparent when going on holidays.
* No more money in birthday cards.
* No more piggy banks for your child to collect pocket money & to learn about the value of earning.
* No more cash for a rainy day fund or for that something special you have been putting $20 a week away for.
* No more little jobs on the side because your wages barely cover the bills or put food on the table.
* No more charity collections.
* No more selling bits & pieces from your home that you no longer want/need for a bit of cash in return.
* No more cash gifts from relatives or loved ones.
What a cashless society does guarantee:
* Banks have full control of every single penny you own.
* Every transaction you make is recorded.
* All your movements & actions are traceable.
* Access to your money can be blocked at the click of a button when/if banks need ‘clarification’ from you which will take about 3 weeks, a thousand questions answered & five thousand passwords.
* You will have no choice but to declare & be taxed on every dollar in your possession.
* The government WILL decide what you can & cannot purchase.
* If your transactions are deemed in any way questionable, by those who create the questions, your money will be frozen, ‘for your own good’.

Forget about cash being dirty. Stop being so easily led. Cash has been around for a very, very, very long time & it gives you control over how you trade with the world. It gives you independence.

If you are a customer, pay with cash. If you are a shop owner, remove those ridiculous signs that ask people to pay by card. Cash is a legal tender, it is our right to pay with cash. Banks are making it increasingly difficult to lodge cash. If you think this cannot happen guess again. Banks are already charging businesses substantial amounts for depositing cash.

Please open your eyes. Please stop believing everything you are being told. Almost every single topic in today’s world is tainted with corruption & hidden agendas.
Pay with cash & please say no to a cashless society while you still have the choice.
