Early this morning, AACoFD received a 911 call reporting that a chocolate lab was stuck on Luce Creek, which had iced over due to the cold temps. Crews from and responded to the area and located the dog. AFD, Squad 38, and Truck 39 carefully deployed onto the frozen surface and safely rescued the dog utilizing a Stokes basket. This rescue is a reminder that our crews are always ready for every member of our community, even our four-legged ones. 🐾🐶.
⚠️ Safety Reminder: Ice on area waterways is dangerously thin. We urge children and adults to STAY OFF ice-covered water. Keep pets on a leash near icy water and immediately call 911 if a person or pet falls through the ice. Do not attempt to rescue on your own.

Today, on 9/11, we remember the nearly 3,000 lives lost, and the countless families forever changed by that day. We remember the firefighters, police officers, first responders, and ordinary people who became extraordinary heroes by running toward the danger when the world stopped. Their bravery and sacrifice will never be forgotten. 🇺🇸

This morning, we had the privilege of bringing bagels to the Annapolis Fire Department. It’s a small gesture, but one filled with deep gratitude. Every day, these men and women put on their uniforms and stand ready to protect and serve our community, just as those heroes did 24 years ago.

We are humbled by their courage, inspired by their dedication, and grateful beyond words for their service. To all the heroes, past, present, and future, we thank you. Today and always, we will never forget. ❤️🚒

This is Jacob. If you’ve been following along, you know he’s the little boy who was el oso’s biggest fan & the heart behind this story that’s brought so many of us back together.

A few days ago, Jacob’s mom made a post in Annapolis Takeout on Facebook about how he still talks about el oso all the time & how he’s made a plan to bring it back to the community one day when he grows up and goes to college to become a businessman.

After seeing her post, we knew we had to do something magical about it. Today Jacob came in to pick up his el oso gear, a fun decoration that once hung on the walls of el oso, stickers, a special letter, and his very own “Big Dreamer” certificate. Seeing his smile reminded us exactly why we love being a small business and serving this community because you never know how a little place like el oso might leave a big mark on someone’s heart.

To all the kids out there (and the grown-ups too): no dream is too big or too small. Keep dreaming wild dreams and reach for the stars, you never know who you’ll inspire next.
