Merry Days.
What is there to say? A lot, so please be patient with me (and my words).
This morning I walked outside, saw a frosted leaf, rejoiced in its beauty, and realized that's what I've been missing.
Joy. Sheer beauty and joy. Making the time for it. Honoring it. Creating with it.
So let me do something and crack my metaphorical shell. Please hang with me as I explain the goo.
The goo. The non-joy. Some not-so-long ago, someone told me that I spent too much time creating. That I didn't spend enough time doing *other stuff.*
I took those words to heart, abandoned creating, and quite frankly...have been miserable for way too long.
This morning my egg shell cracked open. I need joy. I need to create. I need to share. Regardless of anything else...within all safey/moral bits of course.
It's quite fitting that it happened on the first day of Merry Days.
And so...I offer you Ornament 1. It's imperfect. It's not refined like others that I've made.
Yet, it's the start. The start of finding joy. In that regard, it's perfect (to me).
When I wrote of an idea in the last post, it was this ornament (but I didn't know the colors).
And so... I will make them and share them here for Merry Days. Due to the Little Gold Farm Stand being used for other things (a bottles/cans drop off place for returning those for money for HIHS Food Pantry)...
If you'd like an ornament, please send word. I'll have it in a bag with your name on it. Just let me know which day works for picking it up. As the Little Gold Farm Stand will be closed, all you have to do is open it, take your item, and close it.
I know it's not like it was with whimsy and wonder of the past (aka the Little Gold Farm Stand being open every day). However, it's the best compromise I have for now.
I could hide joy or work with it as I have, as I know in the moment.
Also, it's always Take What You Need...Leave What You Can.
And, if anything is needed, please send word.
Cheers (even the tiniest of ones) to the gift of Joy and honoring it.
Peace to you and yours from all of us
PS Sorry for the not-so great image. Yes, we have a stuffed monkey (from Buy Nothing) named George on our fire place mantle.
