Hello everyone! I have taken some time off of baking the last couple of months to spend time with my family and soak up the last bits or summer together!
We have some exciting news:
Our family is growing — we’re expecting our third baby in January! We cannot wait to welcome our little boy into the world in just a few months! This exciting announcement also comes with a bittersweet one: After a lot of thought, I’ve decided to put a pause on Selah Sourdough for the foreseeable future.
I started Selah Sourdough as a way to share my love of baking with my community and to see what running a micro bakery out of my home would look like...would it work? Would anyone want to buy my baked goods? What began as something I loved doing in my kitchen turned into a little business because of all of you. Every order, review, and loaf or baked good you brought home helped this dream become a reality!
It was a hard decision to pause the bakery indefinitely, but I want to be able to be fully present with my kids during these little years, and this is what we believe is the right next step for our family.
Maybe someday I’ll feel called to start bake days up again, or maybe this will simply be a beautiful chapter that I’m grateful I got to experience. Either way, I’m so thankful for the experience that taught me so much and for the community that came along with it.
Thank you, truly, for supporting my little bakery, cheering me on, and trusting me to bake for your families. Your support has meant more to me than you know.
Sincerely,
Sophie Johnson
