A little update from Petals and Hens Bakehouse
As you may have noticed, things have been pretty quiet this summer. I have been on a break for the last few months, and for now, that break is going to continue.
‼️This also means that I will no longer be attending any of the fall markets that were previously announced‼️
I was recently promoted at my primary job, and taking on this new supervision role has added a lot more responsibility to my plate. While I’m learning and adjusting to this new role, I’ve realized that trying to keep up with running a baking business right now is simply too much. Even thinking about keeping up is overwhelming.
I also want to be honest: I love baking, and I love baking for myself, my family, friends, and others. But I’m beginning to question whether I actually enjoy baking as a business. Once money, deadlines, orders, and the pressure to keep up become involved, something I genuinely love can start to feel more like an obligation than a passion.
I honestly don’t know what the future of Petals and Hens Bakehouse looks like right now. I’m not saying goodbye or closing the door just yet. Maybe out of pride and being too stubborn or being hopeful my feelings will change. But for now I’m just giving myself the time and space to figure out what I truly want.
Thank you all so much for supporting my dream this past spring. Your support has meant the world to me, and I hope you’ll understand as I take some more time to figure out what comes next for me.
