🖤💀 INTRODUCING YOUR BAKER… AGAIN! 💀🖤
We are SO close to 700 followers, and it’s been a while since I’ve properly introduced myself, so hi!! 👋🏼 If you’re new here—or you’ve been around since the beginning—I’m Tay, short for Tatlynn, the face behind Tay’s Tasty Treats! 🖤
First things first… I’m originally an Oklahoma girl. 🤪 Don’t hold it against me! Oklahoma will always have a piece of my heart, but I have definitely learned to love the Lone Star State. 🤠
I’ve pretty much always done life a little differently. I graduated high school at 16, enrolled in beauty college, and by 18 I was running my own salon.
Then I met the love of my life, Crese—who unknowingly also signed up to become my business partner, delivery man, heavy-lifter, taste tester, problem solver, and unpaid employee. 😂🖤 Our love story has been nothing short of fast, crazy, and completely head-over-heels. This September we celebrate 6 years of marriage, and somewhere along the way we created two beautiful babies who are the entire reason behind everything we do.
Almost 4 years ago, we made the decision for me to stay home and raise our babies.
But I knew I still wanted something that was mine.
I’ve been obsessed with baking for as long as I can remember, and decorated sugar cookies had been my personal nemesis since I was about 16. 😂 I tried them, couldn’t master them, and they NEVER left my mind.
When Crese and I talked about me staying home, I told him I wanted to build something. Something that allowed me to be a present mama, contribute to our family, AND be unapologetically myself.
So I enrolled in classes, learned everything I could, took care of all the requirements…
…and Tay’s Tasty Treats was born. 🖤🍪
Over these almost four years, this business hasn’t just grown—I have grown with it.
I’ve found myself again.
If you know me, you know I’m an alternative girly through and through. Give me all things dark, tattoos, skeletons, black, turquoise and a little bit of weird. 💀😂 I’ve always believed there is something really special about being completely yourself, and that’s something I want my babies to grow up knowing too.
For a long time I was scared to let that side of me become part of my business.
Then came Mr. Skelly. 💀🖤
I was SO nervous to introduce him as the face of Tay’s Tasty Treats and lean into an alternative style you don’t see very often in the baking world.
Turns out… y’all LOVE that little skeleton just as much as I do. 😂 And finally having a brand that actually feels like ME has been one of my favorite parts of this journey.
Oh—and while we’re talking about personal growth…
I also SWORE I would NEVER make cakes.
Apparently I’m a liar. 🤣
Because now cakes come out of my kitchen basically every week, and somehow… I’m here for it. 🎂😂
This business truly feels like another one of my babies. I’ve watched it start from nothing. I’ve watched it grow, change, find its personality and become something people genuinely support and love.
And I don’t think I’ll ever be able to explain what that means to me.
Some of my customers have turned into some of my greatest friends. I’ve gotten to make treats for birthdays, weddings, babies, graduations, celebrations and milestones that families will remember forever.
I get to be a tiny part of some of the biggest moments in your lives.
THAT is the best part of my job. 🖤
So whether you’ve ordered 20 times, shared my posts, recommended me to a friend, liked a picture, followed along quietly, or you’re brand new here…
thank you.
Thank you for letting this Oklahoma girl build something a little weird, a little dark, very sweet, and completely her own right here in Texas. 💀🍪🖤
We’re almost at 700 of you, and younger me would never believe what we’ve built.
I’m Tay.
Mama. Wife. Baker. Tattoo lover. Skeleton enthusiast. Professional mess maker. 😂
And the very proud owner of Tay’s Tasty Treats.
Welcome to my little corner of the baking world. 🖤💀
Stay weird. Eat cookies. And always be unapologetically YOU. 🍪🖤
