The Birth of My Breads
After graduating from Culinary School, I longed to be in the kitchen doing what I loved best - creating wonderful food! Life had other plans for me, however, and I put a management degree to work instead, managing national chain restaurants for many years. Family ties pulled me back to Michigan, and with most of my children on their own by that time, I finally decided to get back to the kitchen and leave the corporate structure of the industry. I organized my little baking venture and called it Hot Buns Baking! I am passionate about my breads, and spend months working with ingredients and methods to develop seasonal blends using local fruits, vegetables and herbs. I source my flours and whole grains to find organic, stone ground choices which preserve the nutrients and natures that bring my breads to life in the best possible way. Grains which were used for bread baking have been with mankind for as long as history can look back. Bread has blessed us not only with nutrition, but with sharing. It has shown love from the hands of mothers, grandmothers, and wives to families, friends and hungry travelers. We are all on this journey of life together, all warming to the love and grace of breaking bread together. I am blessed with the joy of bringing daily bread to life, and I invite you to join us on our journey and break bread together!
