First, I want to thank everyone who took the time to stop by Toni’s Cookie Nook this weekend! ❤️ Every purchase, every visit, and everyone who continues to support my little home bakery means more to me than you know.
Unfortunately, I also have something upsetting to share. This weekend, almost $40 worth of baked goods were taken from the nook without payment. I had checked my cash box and payment apps just moments before, and when I came back to restock after someone left, I noticed several items were missing. I checked everything again, and there was no payment. I also have a camera facing the nook, so I know what happened.
Honestly, it really hurts. I’m a stay-at-home mom, and I started this home bakery to have something of my own. What people may not realize is how much time, money, and hard work goes into baking everything from scratch, preparing the stand, packaging the treats, and keeping everything stocked. Every single item represents hours of work and money spent on ingredients and supplies. This isn’t a big business with money to spare. It’s something I work really hard for, and every sale matters.
I never wanted to put a camera directly inside the nook because I wanted everyone to feel comfortable stopping by, choosing their treats, and enjoying the convenience of a self-serve stand. Unfortunately, moving forward, I’ll be installing a camera directly inside the nook to help protect my business and the work that goes into it.
I hate that it has to come to this, but I also have to protect what I’ve worked so hard to build.
I don’t want one bad experience to overshadow all the good ones, and I’m still so grateful for everyone who stops by, pays honestly, and supports what I do. Thank you for continuing to support Toni’s Cookie Nook. It truly means a lot to me. ❤️🍪
