Gâteau au Yaourt or Yogurt Cake is a lightly sweet cake with lemon zest stirred into the batter with a lovely lemon juice and zest syrup poured over the cake while still warm. Perfect with coffee or tea, an afternoon pick-me-up or after supper! It may look basic but the beautiful lemon flavor is perfectly delicious! Elevate by topping with fresh fruit such as strawberries, raspberries or blueberries and a dollop of plain, vanilla or lemon yogurt.
