The birthday post may be a day late because I fell asleep before I could finish it…apparently, I’m the sleepy one behind Lucille & Grace.

But Happy Birthday to my husband, John—the muscle behind Lucille & Grace, both literally and figuratively! If there are boxes to lift, a cart to push, or little of all things in between…John is somewhere making it happen.

Entrepreneurship will test your faith, patience, creativity—and every password you’ve ever created. Some days I’m building the dream; other days, the dream is building me. And sometimes I’m keeping it all together on the outside while silently crying, “HELP!” on the inside. 😂

Either way, I keep showing up because Lucille & Grace is worth it.

In the early days, Lucille & Grace was a growing custom cake and dessert business that I built alongside my career in Student Affairs. So, when an email from VoyageATL landed in my inbox inviting me to be featured, I immediately called in my dream team—my friend Alfred to style me and the shoot, my cousin Lisa to work her magic behind the camera, and, of course, my Kels to keep the laughs coming and provide plenty of moral support. We didn’t have a big production crew—just a big vision, a lot of love, and the people who believed in me from the beginning.
