Accepting Donations! For those of you who don’t know me as well, I used to be an ICU nurse. I stepped away for a bit due to some burnout and then I became incredibly ill during and after my second pregnancy. I am not cleared to return to work, and I am watching and hearing the pain other medical professionals (my close friends) who are struggling against their personal burnout while fighting COVID. If you’ve not been in an ICU, it can be exhausting to see all of the tubes, drips, and people who go into the care for each person. You have teams of doctors, nurses, respiratory therapists, phlebotomists, lab techs, radiologists, physical/occuptional therapists, aids, etc that labor over keeping these people alive. The hospitals in our area are full of COVID. While our numbers are currently at their highest, our medical professionals have been fighting this for MONTHS. They have been fighting for strangers lives for MONTHS and they are TIRED.
I say all of that to announce that I will be using the skills I can currently use to make my cakes (I now have a license to sell my goods) and foods to donate to the various units. I will be donating the supplies I can and I will give my time to put them together! I will show everything that I make and would just love to help out in some way. Please consider donating to the medical professionals in our area. We are moving next week, so I will be putting cakes together the following week. Please message or text me if you are interested in donating! I’ll probably set up a GoFundMe to help organize this. Please consider helping out if you can. I’ve personally experienced the moral burnout, and I know my friends are struggling right now! Stay safe everyone! Please Share This!
