Spent the weekend experimenting with crepe cakes! Turns out, the repetition of making the crepes was very soothing. This one was filled with alternating layers of crème patisserie and chocolate whipped cream hidden under lusciously rich dark chocolate ganache. I’ll be doing this again!!

Anniversary cake. This one was WAY beyond my comfort zone. Many techniques I’ve seen demonstrated but never tried. I have new respect for all you cake artists who make it look so easy! I easily spent 15 hours on this. I’m happy with the way it turned out.😊

You know how sometimes you just connect with people? Well, today in line at Costco that happened to me with a very kind, very calm woman. We started talking about vegan butter (Costco is discontinuing their offer of Miyoko’s vegan butter, so it’s on sale till tomorrow if you need it). She told me during her meditation class this morning (probably why she was able to stay calm in Costco on a Saturday..😂) she was told to give flowers to a stranger. Then she gave me a huge bunch of beautiful roses.
It’s so nice to be around good people who want to spread kindness. Sometimes I forget they really do walk among us.😃
