A few months ago we were out in the sun, hands full of summer blooms. Now everything is tucked under snow, and the farm feels completely different.

Winter gives us a chance to slow down—to rest from the busy season and to look ahead with fresh eyes. This is when we step back, breathe, and start thinking about what we want the next season to become.

It’s a quiet shift, but an important one… letting the vision take root before the work begins again.

Our freeze-dried sweet cherries are the perfect way to hold onto summer’s sweetness as the days get cooler.
Our sourdough baker is taking the weekend off from baking 🍞💤 but don’t worry — we’ll still have fresh cookies later this afternoon, plus local honey, homemade granola, and lots of freeze-dried sweet cherries to keep your snack basket full and happy. 🍒🍪🍯

Last night, a friend gifted me a bouquet she’d made from her garden. I loved hearing about what she grows and swapping garden stories with her—it made the flowers feel even more special.

It got me thinking—why save flowers for special occasions? Sometimes they’re just for saying, “I was thinking of you,” or for enjoying on your own kitchen table.

The other afternoon, Dan (or Dad to us kids) pulled us aside at work. With his usual mix of patience and passion, he shared the facts and benefits of trimming trees. Once the lesson was done, he loaded us up, and we put our hands to work, tending to rows of young trees—some just knee-high, others brushing our shoulders.
We’re so thankful for Dan & Linda, who not only pour their wisdom into us but also invite us to be part of their story here on the farm. These young trees are a reminder that growth takes both care and time—and the work we put in now will shape the seasons to come.
