A lot of you have asked why there aren't flowers at the farmstand this year. The answer has less to do with gardening and more to do with this season of life.

Last year, I felt pulled in too many directions. Over the winter, I made a list of all the things I wanted to say yes to, and then I realized something: I couldn't say yes to everything. If I wanted slow mornings reading books with my girls, afternoons swimming in the pool we barely used last summer, and unhurried days with room to explore, something else had to give.

This year, it was the garden.

When I walked to the garden this morning, I felt a little sad seeing the weeds where flowers once grew. It looked like something I'd neglected.

But then my girls gathered a handful of wildflowers and weeds into the sweetest little bouquet.

In that moment, I realized it wasn't neglect—it was a different kind of harvest.

I may not have buckets of blooms this summer, but my arms are full of my children. These days are short, and while flowers return every year, this season with my girls won't.

Sometimes beauty isn't found in everything we accomplish. Sometimes it's found in what we're willing to let go of.

I'd love to hear—what are you saying yes to this season?

This morning I picked up cherries from our neighbors at Sayler Farms to stock the farmstand.

As I was packing them up, I started thinking about community and how it changes over time.

I’m not originally from Northern Michigan, but I’ve found such a sweet community here. My husband, his family, our neighbors, and now this little farmstand have all been part of that.

The farmstand has become more than just a place to share homemade goods. It’s connected us with so many wonderful people, and I’m thankful for every person who chooses to stop by.

Whether you’ve visited once or you’ve been coming since the beginning, I consider you part of our community too.

Thank you for supporting our little farmstand and for being part of its story. 🤍

When I started thinking about July’s soap, I couldn’t stop thinking about all of our favorite summer traditions—hiking the dunes, popsicles on warm afternoons, and sunny days spent at the beach.
If you’ve walked the shores of Northern Michigan, you’ve probably found a piece of beach glass. It’s one of our favorite little treasures to tuck into our pockets and bring home to add to our collection.
That’s what inspired Beach Glass.
I can’t quite describe the scent, but it’s soft, warm, and reminds me of summer. I hope you’ll love it as much as we do.
Beach Glass is our July soap of the month and will only be available through July before August’s scent arrives.

The tote that goes with us everywhere — to the beach, the park, on hikes, to the farmers market, and on our travels. It’s the one we reach for again and again.
The farmstand is stocked. What will you fill your tote with this weekend?

Happy Sunday, friends! ☀️

I spent part of the weekend making a fresh batch of soap from our signature collection:

Orchard
Garden
Dune

It got me thinking about adding a monthly limited-edition soap scent alongside our signature collection.

If you could dream up any soap scent, what would it be?

Leave your ideas below—I just might pick one of your scents. 🫧

Hi friends! We’re so excited to finally share something we’ve been working on behind the scenes this season.

Almost 200 years ago, parts of our family settled between Yuba and Port Oneida, building a life rooted in faith, family, and the land. Back then, the local mill would have been an important part of everyday life — a place where grain was gathered, flour was milled, and communities were sustained.

Today, that same mill lives on as The Mill, and it feels incredibly meaningful for us to carry their sourdough bread at our farmstand. In a small way, it feels like carrying a piece of that story forward — from Port Oneida to our little Yuba community.

There’s something special about sharing food that connects generations: slow-made bread, maple syrup poured generously, and simple things meant to be gathered around.

This weekend the stand will be stocked with some favorites and a few new additions:

• Sourdough Bread
• Sourdough Pancake Mix
• Maple Syrup
• Honey
• Granola
• Chex Mix
• Freeze Dried Fruit

Thank you for supporting our small farmstand and being part of this story with us. We can’t wait to share this season with you 🤍
