So, I got my grade and feedback on my year-long Level 6 glaze chemistry assignment. Got 💯 and an extremely lovely note from my amazing teacher. Whoop! ✨

Super proud of myself — literal hours and hours of reading and studio time went into this. While I for sure would have done some things differently in hindsight, you don’t know what you don’t know until you do it, right? So I’m happy with where I got with this, and now know just how literally endless the world of glaze exploration and experimenting is!

Big thanks to for inspiring me to keep going at every stage and being such a patient and inspiring teacher. Also, to for running this amazing course online. Also big thanks to Derek Au of for the incredible tools! I will definitely be subscribing to support your work and keep my access. (Gotta go in and add photos to all my test recipes now, though, haha!)

We’re sad that this series of HighSeas Culture markets is almost at an end, but extremely happy we had the opportunity to participate in almost all of them. It’s truly the end of an era, and we’re so grateful for all our incredible customers and DIY participants, the other amazingly talented vendors, and, if course, the inspiring, endlessly energetic Paulina (山盟商行 Sunmoon Refillery), the brains behind the entire event.

There’s one more HighSeas collab event with Taichung Buy Nothing at the same venue on Saturday 22nd November at 3pm-6pm. You can bring stuff to give away, take stuff for free, eat yummy food, and listen to music.

Throwing it back to my solo exhibition “Take Out” in 2023, where I displayed Taiwan white porcelain works created from plaster molds made from disposable plastic takeaway containers. I made the Cone 6 “celadon” glazes in the brand colors of the leading delivery apps, part of the work I had to do in my Level 5 Glaze Chemistry course at .

I believe the new where I held this show is nearing completion. It’s very exciting and I’m so happy for that the amazing owner, Jon Renzella, is taking this next step with the space.

I’m back in my homeland of Aotearoa for a bit where the texture and surface decoration inspiration is out of control. Gosh, how it’s good to be back among the wild waves, epic cliffs, mossy forests, and, most of all, old friends and family.

Whenever I have some spare clay leftover from some other project, I inevitably roll out a slab and make these flower dishes. I decorate them however I feel at the time. Why am I so obsessed with this shape? I really don’t know!
