It was "Muffins with Moms" morning at the elementary school.
7-year-old Chloe sat at her desk, looking down. Her mom had passed away two years ago.
She watched the other girls laughing with their mothers. She felt invisible.

Then, the classroom door opened.
Chloe’s jaw dropped. The whole class went silent.
Walking in was her dad, Steve.
He wasn't wearing his construction boots. He was wearing a bright floral sundress over his t-shirt and a blonde wig.

He walked right up to Chloe's tiny chair.
"I didn't want you to miss out on the muffins," Steve grinned, squeezing into the seat next to her.

The other moms didn't laugh. They teared up.
Chloe hugged him tighter than she ever had. "You look silly, Daddy," she whispered.
"I'd wear a clown suit if it made you smile," he replied.

He looked ridiculous. And he was the best parent in the room. 👗🧁

They say if you can't sleep, you should count sheep. Well, I gave it a shot, but being the adorable sheep is way more fun than just counting! I am Sheep #1, the most charming one, and if you count me, you'll fall head over hooves in love instead of dozing off.
