A hard lesson learnt today:

DON’T eat durian before exercise!!

It causes heart burn!! 😖

Happy International Mother’s Day!

I’m starting a new book. It’s not a novel but I am curious about what’s behind the scenes of this project. The author’s prologue really speaks to my heart.

He said:

“We live with the knowledge that failure is ingrained in the effort. But so is overcoming.”

Apart from all these breads, I also made burger buns. I was so busy with one thing after another that I have forgotten to take a photo.

I had booked a court for playing tennis and the rain began to fall as soon as our court time started. Bummer! It’s meant for us to have a rest today. Hahaha

Do you defrost a pack of sourdough loaves and consume that for a week? That’s a brilliant idea actually. Get a few loaves in freezer stock and defrost one loaf per week. 😎

I am happy to pack in half-half for you - either to have 2 different flavours for the week or to share with friends. 🥰

⛈️☔️ The thunderstorms this afternoon had me quite concerned.

I had a delivery to be made, and I honestly didn’t wish to send it out tomorrow if the rain continues through the whole afternoon.

Thank goodness we didn’t have to come to that. Phew! 😮‍💨

The climate has changed again as we are easing into the rainy season. I shall have to adjust the way I handle the dough babies. 😆

Don’t forget to keep a brolly in your bag! You’ll thank me later! 😝

Sourdough Shokupan taught me so much to be patience, to be observant and to keep trying to make it better.

I have had failed breads, yes for sure! Failures help me analyse the mistakes or what could have been made to improve it next time. 😊

And working with natural/wild yeasts makes it much more challenging, more exciting, more rewarding.

This is why I am so hooked with baking sourdough breads! 🥰

Long time ago I was a plant newbie, and still am, I wondered why on earth would anyone cut holes in green leaves?

True story.

I was such a noob.

And now I am trying to learn more about different kinds of plants and their temperaments. It’s really fascinating when we slow down to appreciate the natural beauty of each types of plants - be it ornamental or practical kinds.

Yaaaaayyyyy! I have finally had the privilege of visiting Yindee Coffee House! It is a tranquil shop set beside a very clean stream. There are lots of trees and plants around the compound.

Unfortunately I did not take any nice photos of the surrounding. You’ll have a to go take a look at Google Maps photos. D’accord? 😆

Thank you P’ Jeff for recommending your delicious coffees to us. And please forgive us for being so noisy in the shop! The kids felt at home and started playing UNO No Mercy right away. You know how the game can get quite loud if you have ever played UNO… 😅

There is a very friendly dog name Goon Cheang that the kids simply adore it. It let us patted and scratched it, even let the kid lifted up its paw. 😆

If you’re looking for artisanal coffee beans, do check out their social media page. They often have limited quantity coffee flavours available so you have to grab it before it’s gone!

We were pleasantly surprised by this very well maintained flower exhibition at Rayong.

Inside the Miracle of Natural Rayong dome, the temperature is maintained at 14 °C. Massive difference, almost like climate shock, when you walk in from a typical hot summer day.

There are lots of beautiful tulips, hydrangeas, daffodils (my favourite!) and lots of other tiny flowers whose names I do not know. I saw a species of pink fringed tulips and they are really special.

The cold air is extracted as a byproducts of processing natural gas. So this place is not run on air-conditioning. 😎

And there’s a delicious ice cream shop near the exit. You have to try coconut ice cream and mixed berry ice cream. We all agreed that these 2 flavours are the best. 🥰

Savoury, or sweet snack? We have you covered! ;)

Savoury crisps is easy on the stomach for when you have a lonely or itchy mouth and wants to munch on something. The Japanese word for it is kuchisabishii (口寂しい or くちさびしい).

The sweet version is a cookies bursting with nuts and sweetened with less amount of dried fruits. The cookies is not meant to be very sweet like most cookies. And it gives you instant energy boost. 😊

Perhaps I shall try with toasted seeds next time. ;)

Speaking of cookies… I feel like kuchisabishii now.😅
