Here is my Full Speech at 3rd Edition of the Kono District Top 40 Most Prestigious Male Awards Ceremony 2026.
Distinguished Guest of Honour, respected government officials, security personnel, traditional and community leaders, representatives of institutions, sponsors and partners, members of the media, our distinguished awardees, ladies and gentlemen, good evening.
On behalf of the Organizing Committee, I am deeply honoured to welcome you all to the 3rd Edition of the Kono District Top 40 Most Prestigious Male Awards 2026.
Tonight is not simply about certificates, trophies or recognition. Tonight is about impact, service, sacrifice, leadership and the positive transformation of our communities.
Our theme this year, “Celebrating Men of Impact and Community Transformation,” reminds us that true prestige is not measured only by position, wealth or popularity. It is measured by what we contribute to society, the lives we touch, the problems we help solve, and the legacy we build for the next generation.
This year, the Awards Committee received approximately 397 nominations from across Kono District. Following the nomination and assessment process, 98 nominees were shortlisted, after which the public participated in the voting process. From that competitive process, the final awardees emerged.
To every person who was nominated, shortlisted or recognised this year, I want to say: your work matters. Even where your name may not appear among the final winners tonight, your contribution to Kono District remains important.
To our distinguished awardees, congratulations.
Your recognition tonight comes with a greater responsibility. Receiving an award should not mark the end of your service; it should encourage you to do more. We expect you to continue leading, mentoring young people, strengthening institutions and contributing to the development of Kono District.
As Chairman of the Organizing Committee, I also want to emphasize that this platform belongs to the people of Kono. It exists to identify, celebrate and encourage individuals who are making meaningful contributions in areas including security, education, health, journalism and media, community development, social work, advocacy, entertainment and other professional sectors.
Recognition is important because communities grow when good examples are made visible.
Our young people need to see that service, integrity, professionalism and community leadership can also be celebrated.
I wish to sincerely appreciate our sponsors and partners who believed in this initiative and supported the successful organization of this ceremony. Your contribution goes beyond financial or material support. You have helped us create a platform that celebrates excellence and encourages community transformation.
To the institutions, organizations, businesses, media houses, security services and community groups represented here tonight, we thank you for standing with us.
I also extend special appreciation to every member of the Organizing Committee. Organizing an event of this magnitude requires planning, sacrifice, difficult decisions, long hours and teamwork. Your commitment has brought us to this moment.
To our media colleagues and bloggers, thank you for helping us tell the stories of our nominees and awardees.
To the families, colleagues and supporters of our awardees, your encouragement has also contributed to their achievements.
Ladies and gentlemen, Kono District possesses enormous human potential.
However, our progress will depend on whether we choose to work together across political, professional, social and community differences.
We must build a culture where we celebrate genuine achievement, encourage young leaders, support community initiatives and hold ourselves accountable to the development of our district.
As young people, professionals and community leaders, we must also continue confronting the challenges affecting our communities, including drug abuse, youth unemployment, violence, educational difficulties and limited opportunities for young people.
These challenges require collective action.
Government cannot do it alone.
Civil society cannot do it alone.
Youth organizations cannot do it alone.
The private sector cannot do it alone.
But together, we can create meaningful change.
That is why this Awards platform must continue to be more than an annual ceremony. It should become a network of people of impact who are willing to work together for the growth of Kono District.
To all our awardees tonight, I therefore challenge you:
Let this award become a call to greater service.
Use your influence to inspire someone.
Support a young person.
Strengthen your community.
Protect your professional integrity.
And continue working for a stronger Kono District.
As Chairman of the 3rd Edition of the Kono District Top 40 Most Prestigious Male Awards, I am proud of what this platform has become, but I believe the best is still ahead.
Let us continue to celebrate those who serve.
Let us continue to encourage excellence.
Let us continue to recognize impact.
And let us continue building a Kono District where leadership is defined by service and where every generation has the opportunity to contribute.
