ECO-FRIENDLY BAKERY OPENED IN FREETOWN, SIERRA LEONE

In an attempt to ease the country's unemployment rate, OMB Sierra Leone Ltd has established a bakery known as OMB Bakery, which will commence operations on the 27th of January 2023 at 38A Old Road Deep Eye Water, Off Main Motor Road Waterloo. OMB Bakery, which stands for Osman Mohamed Bangura Bakery, is registered with Corporate Affairs Commission Sierra Leone under the Companies Act No. 5 of 2009.
In a bid to address the issue of hunger and food insufficiency in the country, OMB will be opening its first bakery in Deep-Eye Water, and there are plans to open bakeries all over the country in due course.
Over 500 loaves of bread will be freely given away to local community members in its maiden production. This is a way to solidify their relationship with community people and manifest their commitment to comply with their Cooperate Social Responsibility (CSR).
The owner, Mr Osman Mohamed Bangura, explains to us in an interview that he got his inspiration to open a Bakery from his late aunt, whom he went to live with during his adolescent age at Aberdeen, Freetown, where he fell in love with baking just from seeing how passionate his aunt, who had an outdoor oven was in baking variety of beautiful and delicious cakes. He went further to say that his bakery would employ as many people as needed.
OMB Bakery will promote a friendly and clean environment as it will operate on delivery services, but as well eco-friendly as Baked goods will be retailed in paper bags which are biodegradable and recyclable, instead of the usual plastic bags that cause more harm to the environment. This is a move to show commitment and work towards the UN Sustainable Goal 13 to help protect the environment by fighting climate change.
