香港優之品麵包酥餅 Hong Kong Flaky Lotus Hong Kong Flaky Lotus was started by an immigrant family who has resided in Singapore since 1988.

We have always dreamt of bringing familiar Hong Kong staples and street favorites from our hearts to everyone from all walks of life. We believe that besides choosing the best finely ground meal of grain, serving well balanced flavours and textures are equally vital. Old is gold and certain things are done best with the heart and with patience. Our recipes are inspired from our personal take on classic simplicity using traditional techniques and modern innovations.

We got an enquiry the other day from a customer at ASQ, asking if we could make a larger wife biscuit. It was her friend’s birthday but she didn’t like cakes that much; however, what she did like, was wife biscuits.

My first question was, “how much larger?” The reply was, “Like a cake size, about 8 inches”

I nearly spat out my herbal tea that I was drinking for my heatiness ☕️🤣 because I don’t think I have ever seen or heard of this before.

I wasn’t even sure it could be done, because of so many factors. Will the fillings hold? Will it be cooked thoroughly? Will the skin hold its shape? Can it even hold that kind of weight?

Well, there was only one way to find out - trial and error. Thank God we found a way to make it work 🤗

All in all, we’re glad she came to us with this request, and for the chance to be part of their celebration 😄 because it gave us a chance to push our limits that little more.

Now we know, making an 8” cake sized wife biscuit (or wife cake, in this instance 😂) is possible 💪

Here we are, on the last day of 2025.

We should have been spending more time reflecting on the past year - the people we have met (and lost), the things that we did right (and not) and the targets that we have hit (or not) - but we were celebrating Christmas so hard that we fell sick 😂

So I took the time, while stuck in the room waiting for my boy to finish napping, to run through all that in my head.

I felt much longer than it actually was. And sharing all that will be a whole book on its own.

Not to mention TMI 🤣

So how was your 2025? Whether or not you have thought about it, it’s already water under the bridge. So here is to a 2026 filled with good health, peace and many great returns.

After all, rabbits are supposed to have a fantastic year ahead right 😆
