Growing up, Christie knew J&C as the family bakery.

But sitting down with her dad and hearing what the early years were really like… hits a little differently.

There were days during the busiest periods where baking could go on for close to 20 hours straight.

Sometimes, there wasn’t even time to go home, they would just sleep upstairs, wake up, and continue again.

A lot of hard work, long hours, and the determination to keep the bakery going.

It’s easy to see the cakes on the shelf today and forget how many years of sacrifice came before them.

So this one is really for the person who started it all. 💛
