Honest hour: Expanding Whiskdom is harder than I thought. 💔

I love this job, but the burnout is real.

Someone once looked at my 2-year waitlist and said, “She thought it’s Hermès is it?” 🧐

I won’t lie, I cried myself to sleep that night. 😢 Questioning everything. Wondering if this was just luck.

So I did the scariest thing I could.
I stopped all the featured news. 📰❌
Went back to my parents’ HDB kitchen. 🏠🍳
And baked every single batch myself.

I told myself:
If this is real, people will find me.
If it’s hype… well, that’s my reality check.

But the waitlist grew anyway. 📈

We just rejected an entire tray of cookies. 🍪

Ps. So what happens to the rejects? We don’t throw them away, we eat them. Every slightly-imperfect, still-delicious one. Because they’re not good enough for you, but they’re far too good to waste.

Some would call it wasteful and fair enough, our ceremonial-grade matcha and grass-fed butter cost a fortune, and we just got rid of a whole batch of them. 😧

But for us it’s non-negotiable: we’d rather lose the ingredients than lose your trust. ✨

The texture was slightly off, just slightly, so the whole tray went, along with all the hours of handmade work behind it. Gone, without hesitation.

Because this isn’t just a cookie. It’s the thing you were looking forward to all day, and “slightly off” isn’t good enough for that. That’s not a trade-off we’re willing to make. 💛

Fiona started baking in her parents’ HDB kitchen during Covid 🏠, because she couldn’t find a cookie that fixed the craving.
