In A Nutshell

🇹🇼 𝙊𝙣𝙚 𝙨𝙩𝙚𝙥 𝙣𝙚𝙖𝙧𝙚𝙧 𝙩𝙤 𝙢𝙮 𝙙𝙧𝙚𝙖𝙢𝙨, 𝙖 𝙟𝙤𝙮𝙤𝙪𝙨 𝙛𝙖𝙧𝙚𝙬𝙚𝙡𝙡~ It's been almost half a year since IAN had been active in this space and I hope many of you have missed my “eccentric” bakes? 😜 Here we’re back with this joyous festivity for the last group of migrant workers we’ve reached out to this CNY 2022 as I bring to you a piece of good news 📰 Taking this moment here to say “farewell”👋 to each of you who’ve seen my humble bakery grow since it started out as Zhongyidian in 2018 and somewhat earlier, informally. Guess many of you who’ve experienced the novel flavours of IAN could tell how much they were mostly centred around Chinese elements and herbs (I even had customers mistaking my webpage as that for a TCM shop 😂) Not sure when this really began but anything relating to the Chinese culture & language never failed to interest me and several grams of this inclination to learn more combined with kilograms of affinity made me chance upon this ‘Treasure Island (people call it 寶島)’ - Taiwan during a school mountain climbing trip in 2015. Since then, this place has undoubtedly became my 'Dreamland' in its total literal sense 😄 i.e. the place I’d like to pursue my baking dreams and today, as I type this to y'all in a corner of Taipei city 🇹🇼, I'm finally another step closer to achieving my life goals. It’s been a decade on this journey of dreams-chasing and while I’m definitely not anywhere near my end goal now, I can only see myself continue "baby-stepping" towards it on the route ahead 🏃‍♀️ Lastly, I probably can never say this enough but for all the support & encouragement I’ve received from every one of you who’ve tasted my bakes throughout my baking journey or even those who supported this secondary life goal of mine to help those in need, THANK YOU 🙏 Perhaps one day, “we’ll meet again” some way because that bread, tart, cake…you have while in Taiwan may have come from the work of my hands 😉 HAPPY CNY FOLKS!🧧🎊🧨 新年快樂, 祝大家萬事順心、順意！😊

"𝑨𝒖𝒈-𝑺𝒆𝒑𝒕 𝑴𝒐𝒏𝒕𝒉𝒍𝒚 𝑩𝒓𝒆𝒂𝒌𝒌𝒊𝒆 𝒇𝒐𝒓 𝑴𝒊𝒈𝒓𝒂𝒏𝒕 𝑾𝒐𝒓𝒌𝒆𝒓𝒔" • With the current Covid heightened alert & tightened restrictions, the volunteers have been working tirelessly to assist with the coordination and assignment of sites to the various volunteers and/or contributors since last month and IAN finally got assigned to a site of 26 workers in the West this Sept where packs of 🍪, ☕, raincoats, salonpas were shared with the workers as little "care items" for them 😊

Upon chatting with the person-in-charge at the site, I also got to learn more about the living conditions of the workers there where they had spaces to get involved in sports, leisure sessions, and an environment filled with lush greenery 🌳 which also directly provided the small group of ~26-30 workers a better dormitory living condition 🏠 It was also indeed comforting to hear how greatly their boss cared for the workers' welfare by frequently gathering inputs from the workers and even generously getting them sports equipment, necessities or food items to boost their general well-being too 💜

I believe all these little acts mean a lot to these workers who've been separated with their families for quite some time by now, THANK YOU to those of you who've been a part of this once again too 😊 Stay safe folks & cheers! 🍻
