When I heard Alysa Liu say this in an interview, it stayed with me.

Watching her glide so gracefully and elegantly across the ice, you can feel that freedom.

In competitions — and in life — we often focus so much on the outcome. But sometimes the most powerful moments happen when we simply allow ourselves to be present and do what we genuinely love.

When something is created from pressure, it feels tight.
When it comes from joy, it expands.

A reminder this International Women’s Day that strength can be expressed not only through power, but also through grace, authenticity, and quiet confidence.

Earlier this winter, in Kitagawa Village, an open and village-led yuzu competition invited ideas that could meaningfully support the village and its future.

Our three-flavour yuzu ice pops were awarded Grand Prix, selected unanimously by the judging panel led by Kihachi Kumagai.

We receive this recognition with gratitude, and a sense of responsibility to the place that inspired it.

The three colours reflect the life of yuzu — from green, to yellow, to orange at full ripeness. Different moments in time, each with its own character and flavour.

This project took shape through collaboration and the generosity of local farmers, who allowed us to experience yuzu across seasons. It belongs as much to the village as it does to us.

The outpouring of love these past few weeks has been overwhelming — in the best way possible 💛

From surprise visits to early preorders, and all the heartfelt messages in between — thank you for celebrating this season finale with me.

It’s been such a joy seeing so many of you pick up your favourites, share your stories, and remind me just how special this little chapter has been.

This weekend, I’ll be baking a small, heartfelt batch of our bestseller NEAT chiffon cakes — Yuzu, Date Walnut, and Fresh Orange 🍊🌿 as well as our egg-free Japanese Yuzu and Chocolate Almond gourmet cookies!
