Cooling Comfort for Events, Examination Halls & Workspaces 💨

With Singapore's examination season underway and transboundary haze becoming a concern, maintaining thermal comfort is increasingly important — especially for those wearing N95 masks for extended periods.

Kian Lee Seng's industrial evaporative air coolers deliver a continuous stream of cooled airflow, helping improve comfort in suitable, well-ventilated environments.

From large school halls and sheltered events to temporary workspaces, our portable cooling units can be strategically positioned to provide cooling where it matters most.

Whether it's supporting students during examinations, event personnel at registration counters or workers in sheltered facilities, thoughtful cooling arrangements can make a difference.

Comfort matters. So does the right cooling solution.

Black Box Venue Setup — Flexible Space, Purpose-Built for Every Event

A black box venue starts with something very simple: an open, flexible space.

What that space eventually becomes depends on the event.

From conferences and presentations to workshops and interactive programmes, the right furniture arrangement helps define how the space will function — whether that means neat rows of cushioned chairs, tables and chairs, benches, or more casual seating configurations.

At Kian Lee Seng, event furniture forms the core of many of our black box venue setups. Depending on the venue and programme requirements, we can also support the setup with stage platforms, supplementary lighting and temporary electrical works, including LEW services where required.

With proper planning, an otherwise empty black box can be transformed into a practical, comfortable and event-ready environment.

We take a closer look at black box venue setups, together with examples from some of the events we have supported, in our latest blog post:

From corporate functions and safety campaigns to community programmes and public events, stages come in different sizes, heights and finishes depending on the venue and programme requirements.

Here are a few stage setups we’ve delivered across Singapore — from a formal red-carpeted stage under tentage, to an indoor event, a community performance setup and a simple corporate presentation stage.

Our stage setups can be completed with carpeting, skirting, access steps, handrails and other event infrastructure as required.

From Carpark to Sports Fest 🏃‍♂️🏀🎾

In our latest Instagram post, we take you behind the scenes as an open carpark is transformed for Decathlon Sports Fest 2026.

👉 Watch the reel on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/p/DcBRfSjPBzm/

With Decathlon Sports Fest 2026 happening this weekend, 15 & 16 August at Decathlon Singapore Lab, Kallang, Kian Lee Seng has completed our event infrastructure setup and the venue is now ready for Decathlon and their team to bring in the sporting activities.

Our scope included tentage, stage and backdrop installation, large drum fans and mist fans across the event grounds.

We also introduced something new this year — colourful fabric streamers spanning the carpark. Fluttering overhead in the breeze, they add colour, movement and a festive atmosphere to the entire space.

With our work completed, the Decathlon Singapore crew is now setting up the equipment for 30+ sports and activities ahead of tomorrow's opening.

From an open carpark to a colourful sporting venue — it's always satisfying to see the transformation come together.

This weekend, head over to Decathlon Lab at 230 Stadium Boulevard, Singapore 397799 and have a great time.

Our setup is ready. Let the games begin. 💪

Setting the Stage for Safety

Another event brought from planning to completion.

For the SASS-JP Safety Campaign 2026, Kian Lee Seng provided a comprehensive range of event infrastructure — including tentage, raised flooring with carpeting, carpeted stage, backdrop production, ribbon-cutting props, furniture and cocktail tables.

Our involvement also went beyond the physical setup. During our pre-production checks, our team spotted resolution issues in the supplied backdrop artwork and assisted in reworking several of the logos before sending it for print. It’s a small step behind the scenes, but one that makes a difference to the quality of the finished presentation.

For the event's electrical requirements, our LEW connected the temporary supply to the existing switchboard, with the installation properly checked and tested to provide safe and reliable power throughout the event.

With decades of experience supporting events of different scales and requirements, our team has developed an efficient approach to coordinating the many details that come together on site — from the structure beneath your feet to the backdrop behind the stage and the power keeping everything running.

In our latest instagram post (latergram actually), we shared footage of our behind-the-scene actions during the set up for TableCon Quest 2026 - Singapore.

https://www.instagram.com/p/Dbrvj0sBorl/

Every successful convention begins with a well-prepared venue.

For TableCon 2026, our team transformed an empty convention hall into neat rows of tables and chairs, creating an organised and welcoming space for exhibitors, game publishers, creators and thousands of tabletop gaming enthusiasts.

To complete the setup, each table was fitted with elegant black table skirting, giving the exhibition hall a clean, professional and premium appearance worthy of a large-scale convention.

From delivery and layout planning to the final alignment of every table, attention to detail was at the heart of every step. The result was a venue ready to host two exciting days of board games, role-playing games, trading card games, exhibitions and interactive experiences.

We are grateful and proud to be part of another successful event in Singapore.

A successful examination starts with a well-prepared environment.

For this examination hall setup, our team delivered and arranged hundreds of examination tables, ensuring every row was perfectly aligned and evenly spaced. Using guide strings as reference, we carefully positioned each table to achieve a consistent layout across the entire hall.

From unloading and transporting the tables into the venue to the final inspection from the viewing gallery, every step was carried out with precision and attention to detail.

While students focus on their examinations, we focus on creating an organised, professional and exam-ready environment behind the scenes.

If you're planning an examination, large-scale assessment, training session or any event requiring precise venue layouts, we'd be happy to help create a functional space tailored to your needs.

Bringing People Together

Successful events don't happen by chance — they begin with careful planning, close collaboration and reliable ex*****on.

For St Ignatius Feast Day Fiesta 2026, our team worked alongside the organising committee over the past three months to plan the event infrastructure, ensuring everything was ready for the celebration.

From tentage and reliable generator power to event layout planning, we helped create a welcoming venue for food stalls, children's activities, live band performances throughout the day and spaces where the community could gather and connect.

The event was blessed with pleasant weather, and our large portable ventilator fans kept the venue well ventilated, ensuring a comfortable experience for visitors throughout the day. Behind the scenes, our temporary power systems reliably supported the stage, food vendors and activities from the first performance to the last.

It was wonderful to see such a strong turnout and vibrant atmosphere from morning to evening.

We congratulate our client for a successful event. We also thank the organising committee for your trust and partnership.

If you're planning a community event, corporate function, exhibition or festival, we'd be happy to help create a functional event space tailored to your needs.

Creating a successful event starts long before the first guest arrives.

Our team transformed an open space into a functional event venue for a Community AI Festival — from an empty site to a completed setup ready to welcome the community.

Behind every setup is careful planning, coordinated ex*****on and attention to detail. Whether it's , , temporary power, furniture or other event infrastructure, our goal is to help every event run smoothly from start to finish.

Grateful to our clients and fellow vendors for the opportunity to support another meaningful community event.

⚡ Ensuring temporary power is safe starts long before the event begins.

Before a temporary electrical installation is put into service, it should be professionally inspected and tested to verify that it has been installed correctly and that key safety measures are functioning as intended.

In this video, our Licensed Electrical Worker (LEW) carries out a routine inspection and testing process before the installation is commissioned.

At Kian Lee Seng, safety is an integral part of every temporary power installation we deliver—helping our clients power their events with confidence.

Planning an event that requires temporary power? We'd be happy to support your project with reliable event infrastructure and professional LEW services.
