An artist talk reflecting on medium, agency, and performance

Following the work-in-progress sharings by and @ , join the artists in conversation with as they will engage in a conversation about the specific practices shared in this event, as well as contemporary performance and dance practices, more broadly.

Nea's work asks how the internet browser can be a field for choreography, an extension of the physical body. Scilla's work-in-progress sharing presents a query about the scope of emotional capacity and its movement from one body to another.

Together, they will discuss how medium and agency inform one another in a performance context. What happens to human agency when it interacts with the digital? In what way the scope of our agency depends on our emotional capacity? How are different agencies mediated in the creative process of performance making?

We invite you to listen, share and join the conversation.

Choreographer Scilla Rajalin will share their newly developed piece with performer/dancer Molly

Taste which forms our ways of living, ways of living which form our taste...

Fan is a stoic portrait of a lifespan, or a small part of it at least. Finding pleasure in the big emotions, in the simplicity of form, in the rigorous and in the bare.

A work in search of passion; about the multi-layered experiences of having a life.
Longing to experience the most explosive of emotions, as well as the most dull; the soloist tracks her steps carefully, searching for connections through shared experience - without knowing with whom she shares them.

Artist and performer will share her work-in-progress titled [inter/face]

[inter/face] is a work in progress exploring the browser as a choreographic space. Nea is interested in how everyday interactions with computers have become extensions of our bodies and minds, and how attention, thought, and online behaviour can be understood as forms of movement. The piece is in an early stage so these interactions and discussions will be valuable to inform the evolution of the project going forward.

Movement session with for dancers and non-dancers

In this movement session, Israel Aloni will introduce ideas and themes from their research and movement practice, The I.Aloni Experience, which they have been developing through choreographic and research processes over the past two decades.

The I.Aloni Experience approaches the body as an experience of being in the world and proposes that it is precisely through the collective that a body can appear.

This session is suitable for anyone (age 16 and up) interested in embodied exploration. No previous dance experience is specifically required.

Workshop:
“Challenging gender markers. What is a masculine gesture?”

and , are inviting; self-identifying male people with and without experience in physical work and/or performing, who are particularly interested in the physicality and behaviour of masculinity and manhood, to participate in the workshop titled “Challenging gender markers. What is a masculine gesture?” based on the research and materials of our piece - Boys Just Want to Have Fun.

...............................

The workshop starts with a movement session of The I.Aloni Experience led by Israel Aloni - a movement research practice which Aloni has been developing in the past 25 years. The practice works with movement, philosophy and psychology to enrich the experience of the practitioners through attentiveness to corporeality (their physical being) and its relation to the psyche (their personhood) and the World. The session is led as a guided improvisation where there is no importance to form or shape, rather to the encounters between the practitioners and the information which Aloni shares through the session.

The workshop is suitable for people aged 18 years and up. English proficiency is necessary for communication. Self-identifying male people with and without previous experience in physical work and/or performing, who are particularly interested in the physicality and behaviour of masculinity and manhood, to participate in the workshop are invited.

Looking back on our first ilDance event!

In May 2026, we gathered at CCAP Stockholm for a day of movement, conversation, and to connect as a community.

The day started with a Gaga/people class led by , inviting us to activate our body and physical sensations…

From there, we moved into a work-in-progress sharing of Intimacy/Intimidation, ´s new project, developed together with collaborator , following a two-week residency at Danscentrum Syd in Malmö, supported by Konstnärsnämnden.

Intimacy/Intimidation explores the limits and formations of inter-personal relations - where it bends the borders between fear of the Other and the desire to get close to them. In a post-pandemic world — continuous reminders of the urgency of Me Too, constant demonisation of the Other, transition into contactless interpersonal relations, and at the same time rising yearning for connection. The work asks if and how we can reconcile these seemingly contradicting urges.

These reflections continued to be discussed in a conversation with , .willigrosenstein, , and , talking about intimacy and consent in contemporary dance and performance practices, addressing the body, the human(e), the inhuman(e), the singular and the collective.

How close are we allowed to come to one another?
When does closeness become too close?
How do we care for both connection and boundaries?

We closed the evening with music by DJ Johannes Lind ().

Thank you to everyone who joined us for our first ilDance event. This was only the beginning—stay tuned for more moments to share together!
