Cláudia's birthday cake. Chocolate sponge, delicious to an unbelievable degree. Vanilla buttercream and fondant butterflies. Mostly put together my the lady herself :)

Right. Today's project: 50 giant gingerbread men and my very first attempt at cookie icing. This is going to be long and interesting.

Good old vanilla sponge, I cut the cake up into different shaped pieces then carefully set the fondant on each piece, to give them good edges. Popped them all into cupcake papers and hey presto! I even remembered to give a picture to the client so they could put it back together again ;)

Don't you just love serendipity? Totally wrecked cupcakes and an oven out of service for a few hours, but, wow! Unbelievably tasty cookie dough pudding recipe discovered ;)
