Looking for a once in a lifetime experience in Portugal? Well, if you're not scared of heights, now you can cross the longest pedestrian suspension bridge in the world... The brand new Arouca 516 (after the 516 meters that take around 10 minutes to cover, while looking down 175 meters to the river Paiva).
We highly recommend adding time to cover the 7kms of the Paiva Walkways... One of the famous attractions of this beautiful region.
Hugo Xavier became one of the first people to cross the world's longest pedestrian suspension bridge when it opened on Thursday near his tiny hometown of Arouca in northern Portugal.
