Most people don’t realise this, but the enquiry process doesn’t need to feel complicated.
It usually starts with just a few simple things: your date, your venue, number of guests, and whether you’re working with a planner. And anything you already know about the atmosphere you want: colours, textures, the overall feeling of the day.
That’s enough.
From there, I can understand the direction that makes sense for your wedding and what the cake should feel like within it.
You don’t need to arrive with a finished idea. In fact, most couples don’t.
It’s much easier when we start from the right place and shape things together from there.
Reaching out earlier also tends to make the whole process calmer. There is more space to think, refine and make decisions without pressure.

In most cases, they do not.

What matters is having enough context to recognise the right direction when it is presented clearly.

That is why my role is not to ask couples to design the cake alone.
It is to guide the proposal based on the wedding, their preferences and the atmosphere they are creating.

This makes the process calmer, clearer and easier to navigate.

That is what allows it to arrive naturally.
Not as a last visual decision.

That means couples are not asked to choose between many unrelated ideas.

And the final cake feels considered from the start.

A wedding cake can feel out of place even when it is beautiful.
Often, the issue is not the cake itself, but the way it relates to the space around it.
Not by copying the flowers or the table exactly, but by belonging to the same visual language.
That can come through shape, finish, colour balance or overall scale.
When that connection is there, the cake stops feeling like a separate decision.
It becomes part of the celebration as a whole.

This is why my work does not begin with a catalogue of cake styles.
It begins with the setting, the atmosphere and the overall direction of the wedding, so the cake feels naturally part of it.

In that context, the cake does not need extra complexity to feel right.
It usually works better when proportion is carefully considered and the design feels settled within the room.
That is often what makes a cake feel elegant rather than overworked.
For couples planning a celebration with a clean, refined direction, a quieter cake can feel more considered than a more decorative one.
The result still has presence.
It just arrives in a more natural way.
