A New Chapter, The Same Heart: Welcome to L’amà
Five years ago, I stepped away from my patisserie and café to answer another calling. With no one in the family able to continue the business, we temporarily closed after ten years of growing from a home-based setup to a full in-store operation — and then the pandemic happened. What I thought would be a short break stretched into years. But through it all, my love for creating, discovering, and reinventing food never faded. And now… I’m finally back.
The Black Box Patisserie will always be a beloved part of my journey—not only for me, but for many of you who supported the brand, enjoyed our creations, and stayed on this page even during my hiatus. That name will live on as our signature line—the nostalgic desserts and favorites you’ve always loved.
For this new chapter, I knew the name had to pay homage to the roots of my love for food. And so we return as L’amà (lah mah), inspired by my grandfather’s name.
Like most grand parents, he believed there was nothing a little food couldn’t fix. Whenever one of us grandkids felt upset, he’d slip or buy us a sweet or a snack, and somehow the world felt right again. Simple, sincere, and full of love—exactly what we hope you feel every time you taste our food.
Growing up with my extended family (all of Lama’s children) showing their love through a full table—warm, generous, and always ready to comfort with food, making sure everyone was fed and believed a good meal could lighten even the heaviest days shaped me — and it’s the very heart of L’amà.
To everyone who stayed on this page and never left despite my years away—thank you. Your steady support allowed this space to survive. As I return, I hope you continue this journey with me.
In the coming days, expect the classics, new creations, and customized treats—crafted with the same dedication and care you remember.
As the holidays approach, we’ll be bringing back beloved favorites and introducing fresh offerings. And as always, we promise quality food, warm service, and dishes made with heart—from our kitchen to your homes.
