π§οΈ Slow Saturday Stories π§οΈ
Rainy Saturdays, warm coffee & milk, and freshly baked bread always bring me back to our earlier days of bread-baking with this little bembi. π
From a little 18-month-old boy rolling pandesal dough and coating each piece in breadcrumbs, to a now 3.5-year-old proudly helping Mama make milk bread. π₯Ή
These days, whenever he spots me by the stainless table, he asks, "Mama, you bake? Juju help?" And before I can answer, he's already pulling up a chair. π Whether it's pandesal, Spanish bread, milk bread, or even homemade playdough, he's always ready to knead alongside me.
What began as simple kitchen play has grown into a love for baking. Kneading, rolling, and shaping dough help build fine motor skills, hand strength, coordination, focus, and patience - all while creating memories we'll both carry for years.
Anak ng tinapay talaga. ππ
And while the recipes change from pandesal then to milk bread now, some of my favorite Ovenminded moments aren't the loaves that come out of the oven, but the tiny flour-covered hands that helped make them... having my little baker right beside me, learning, helping, and filling our kitchen with lots of questions, stories, and joy while baking. ππ€
